Barbara was very hospitable, had a great choice of wools and silks and colours.
I had a wonderful day with Barbara yesterday. I did a felt painting which should have been a sunset, with sea and mountain and a boat merrily floating along. Nope, after doing the rubbing this dragon appeared behind the moon, big wings, so we changed to Dragon Mountain with volcano of course and the sea a bit more wild and the boat was enhanced with freehand felting at the end. I enjoyed all the rubbing to get the fibres together, Barbara’s expertise helped me know when it was ready for the next stage. Not as hard as I thought. Will go again on Barbara’s course to see what I can achieve. Thank you Barbara.
Response from Feltworld - Creative Arts:
I loved your creativity and going with the flow of the dragon lol Your pictures looked brilliant and it would be lovely to see it framed so I can add it to Craft Courses :-). My friend and I spent a day with Barbara making our creations; my friend made a gorgeous Jemima Puddleduck and I made a Hare.
We had a lovely day. Barbara is a relaxed and kind person who generously shares her expertise in a really humble way. She made us both feel comfortable and embraced the quirkiness of our creations. Indeed, we both loved that she did not try to 'fix' what we had done, but allowed our work to be just that: our work.
We had an absolutely lovely day and would thoroughly recommend her courses.
Response from Feltworld - Creative Arts:
Thank you for such a lovely review Karen. Your hare and Jemima look fabulous 😃. I do feel that it’s important not to take over my students work lol. I must admit that I have to keep my hands tied behind me sometimes unless I’m given permission to fix of course!! Merry ChristmasAs a novice felt maker I had no idea what I would be able to produce during a one day course with Barbara. I completed two pictures which I am so pleased with, one I will frame and keep and the other is going to be made into a cushion cover as a Christmas gift. Barbara was really informative, showing me and a friend the techniques we needed but very hands off so we really had completed our own felt designs. She was always there to encourage us and to show us other techniques we could use to improve our designs. With four people and three different ability felters making completely different products Barbara provided just the right amount of help and support for every one throughout the day.The lunch provided was great too.
I am definitely going to felt again, many thanks Barbara.
Response from Feltworld - Creative Arts:
Thank you Fiona. Happy felting and if you need any advice, give me a shout and I'll be happy to answer any questions. BarbaraI spent a wonderful day with Barbara learning the techniques for making a bag. I’d done some wet-felting before, having taught myself from books, but was lacking inspiration for what to do with the pieces when finished. Barbara is patient, encouraging, informative & incredibly generous with her ideas. There were four of us on the day, all doing something different & we all had lots of one-to-one help. I came away with a really nice bag & lots of confidence & the inspiration I needed to carry on this amazing craft. Barbara opened my eyes to the endless creative possibilities of felting & I will definitely be going back for more workshops - I can’t wait.
Eileen

I wouldn't hesitate in recommending this course/workshop - if you're on your own, with a friend of in a group, I'm sure you'd have fun...and you get to leave with a stunning Nuno felt scarf, too!

Hi Dawn, Thank you so much for you kind and very encouraging words. You brought something unique and very special into my world of woolly fibres with your beautiful husky fur. Your two nuno felted scarves are gorgeous.Thank you so much Barbara for such an excellent course. It was extremely good of you to run the course just for me when the others dropped out - I really appreciated that.
I thoroughly enjoyed the day - I started as a complete novice, feel I learned tons and actually left with a superb scarf that I am very proud of and shall definitely use! Following your excellent introduction to felting I have already ordered myself some supplies and am determined to experiment more with this fascinating craft. You not only explained how to felt but also gave me an insight into why.... Thank you very much again!
Nuno Scarf wet felting....Barbara offers clear instruction and works at a comfortable pace to complete the project. I have thoroughly enjoyed creating my scarf using the Wool / groomed fur from my Huskies....so impressed with how it turned out....I decided to do another workshop with Barbara....this time mixing Husky Wool with Merino....wow so pleased.....Barbara is an inspiration and an Excellent teacher/instructor ....Thank You!!
A really great course today. My first time at wet felting and I came home with a really nice unique nuno felted silk scarf - far better than I ever expected. The class was small and everyone received individual attention. I learnt a new skill from an expert. Barbara is very patient and makes everyone feel very relaxed. I would highly recommend this and any other course that Barbara runs, others on the day wet felted small hand bags which also looked fun

I can highly recommend taking a wet felting course with Barbara and I look forward to taking another in the near future.

Classes are small, so that you get expert one-to-one tuition. This is the second class I have attended, I made a wet felted picture on the first occasion, again an enjoyable experience.

Thank you very much for your kind review, you are the star who produced a fabulous piece of unique work :-). Best regards Barbara MeekMany thanks Barbara for an excellent day. Lots of helpful tips and a wonderful array of wools and silks to choose from. Students are very much encouraged to decide upon their own projects, so at any workshop everyone could be working on something different - an excellent way to see what the range of possibilities are and to get inspired!
I had a great day making a nuno felted scarf. A friendly course with excellent tuition from Barbara. I have enjoyed learning a new skill and would recommend it to anyone.
Wonderful course using different felting techniques. Walking in as a total beginner and leaving, understanding how to complete wet and needle felting techniques.
A great way to spend a day, coming away with two beautiful pieces.
I am an absolute beginner and just one day with Barbara and I've made a footstool I'm really pleased with. An interesting day learning a new technique and a wide choice of colours. Lovely lunch included makes for excellent value. Highly recommended!
Wonderful, friendly course, I have learnt great techniques and had a great day too. I am leaving with a beautiful, hanging piece of colourful art, that has been wet felted, Barbara is a great encourager as well as teacher!
I did a day course with Barbara learning how to wet felt. I made a felt landscape picture. I had never done anything like this before but Barbara was lovely and welcoming and convinced me that I would leave at the end of the day with something to be proud of. I thoroughly enjoyed the day and loved the way the felt changed with each process , and yes, I am extremely proud of my very own work of art!
Attended Barbara's felting course today. I'm a complete novice and did not know what to expect. I was given a warm welcome on arrival and shown a variety of things to make. Thank you for your patience and enthusiasm which helped me to create something which I am proud of. The process is fascinating. If you want to try something different I suggest that you give this a try. Expert tutition from a lovely lady. Thank you for an enjoyable day.
I have been on two of Barbara Meeks courses.....what an inspirational teacher/instructor. I have learned so much from Barbara and she has given me the confidence to work with and experiment with my own dogs Husky Wool using Wet Felting and Needle Felting techniques. I designed (with Barbaras help) a Nuno Scarf using my Husky Wool from each of my 12 Dogs.....just love it!!!!! I could not have achieved this without Barbaras clear teaching and instruction......EXCELLENT!!!!!!
Will certainly be attending more!!
First real attempt at dry felting. I really enjoyed the day and impressed myself and my family, of producing a felt rabbit which was pleasingly convincing! It also got the ah! factor from work colleagues and has already got me wanting to make more. Most enjoyable!
I had the best time wet felting a landscape painting with felt. It was very therapeutic and with great results.
Barbara is a wonderful teacher, and took me through all the steps. I loved listening to her extensive knowledge of this craft. (especially about the Turkish Rug)
Highly recommend.
Many thanks Denise
I have totally loved these courses. Excellent tuition from Barbara in a lovely relaxed atmosphere.
I am looking forward to joining another course in the near future.
I attended a course on wet felting with my sister. We are both new to felting but with expert instruction from Barbara we both came away with amazing felted pictures. I would recommend this course to anyone interested in creating unique felt art in a friendly environment with an expert tutor.
I attended a scarf making course and came out with a beautiful scarf, my own creation & original. Would recommend this course to family, friends. Great fun & meet new friends.
I have never done anything like this before and was a little hesitant . I needn't have worried. The very patient Barbara ensured we were all fully trained at each stage and was happy to re-explain points when necessary. We had a good laugh whilst watching our scarfs appear before our very eyes. Barbara even provided a delicious lunch . I came away delighted with my creation and have given it as a present to another friend. She has decided to go on a course with Barbara as well . What a great day. Thank you Barbara
I attended a felting workshop with Barbara, there were 3 of us on the workshop and we all made different things. I made a lovely nuno felted scarf.
I plan to attend another workshop as I would like to do more nuno felting with silks and other fabrics.

I thoroughly enjoyed the half day course with Barbara and it has left me wanting more. The extensive resources and Barbara's encouraging teaching style gave me confidence to learn new skills. I highly recommend the experience.
I had a very enjoyable day at the nuno felting scarf making course.
I was made to feel very welcome and was given all the expert step by step guidance I needed to make my first nuno scarf.
It made a wonderful gift to my mother.
Thank you Barbara.
A very enjoyable day indeed! Barbara is a great teacher, and her studio is an excellent place to work. She's got some wonderfully inspiring samples to show the range of effects you can achieve with Nuno felt... Very good value, too; I'm delighted with my scarf and plan to experiment further. Certainly I'd recommend this course to anyone!

Barbara's lovely studio provided the perfect creative environment to learn the skill of wet felting and her friendly teaching style made even a novice like me, feel confident that I could create something beautiful.
I'm now hooked and can't wait to try another of Barbara's workshops.
I made a stunning piece of art work on this Nuno felting day with Barbara. It is being measured up to be framed to hang in my living room as it goes perfectly with everything.
I had an absolutely fabulous experience learning something new, the nuno process is just wow, how amazing it is to see the silk and wool react in such a way - beautiful. I'm afraid Barbara that I will be back for more. Fabulous teacher, so calm and explained everything in such detail in stages, and had a good sense of humour too.
Barbara combined giving you the freedom to use your own ideas, whilst guiding with confidence in the finished scarf as you really do not know how it is going to look by the end! As it happened I am delighted and thrilled with my piece. Barbara also provided a great introduction to various techniques and instilled a desire to carry on and learn more more more of this exciting skill. She ensures that the classes are relaxed, informative with lots of examples to inspire the imagination. I will definitly be back for another course and bring my friend and daughter next time...already purchased some birthday gift vouchers :-) Fiona x
Interesting day. Good fun and fascinating to see how the process of making felt works. Thanks.
Lovely day, full explanations and help given by Barbara, whose knowledge and passion for textiles was evident. Would recommend this course
I had a one to one lesson with Barbara so I had her full attention. I have limited use of one hand, but I am capable and with a little help with laying out the fibres from Barbara for an hour in the morning, I completed a beautiful delicate floral unique scarf or I may use it as a wall- hanging. Barbara is very patient, explains the processes in simple stages and a great teacher. She has many years experience and her rug which she made in Turkey is beautiful. Highly recommended.
My husband bought a place on this course feltmaking course as a Christmas present. We went to Stafford and made a weekend of it, hubby went to see his friend and I on my fabulous day with 3 other ladies. I loved it and I am hooked on feltmaking.
I was and still am absolutely amazed at how so very adaptable the fibres are maniputated just by using soap and water and a bit of rubbing that such beautiful pieces of art can be produced. I love my scarf - I could never buy one like it and I am so looking forward to my birthday gift voucher next month, the hints surely must have sunk in.
My friend and I have just been one a nuno felting scarf day with Feltworld and had a lovely relaxed day with Barbara, who is so experienced and answered our many questions as virgin felters lol. She put us at ease and explained with many stages and demonstrations which made it very easy to follow. Her work is so beautiful and textural.
We are delighted with our new creations and excited to wear them. I will also use mine as a hall table runner in the summer... I don't care I will show off lol.five
We have bought gift vouchers to attend another course for our birthday in July/August.
I really enjoyed my day at Barbara's felt scarf making course. It was my first time at wet feltmaking and it was brilliant. Barbara is a very experienced feltmaker/teacher, she talked us through each stage, step by step, I think that we were all amazed at how the felt gripped through the silk scarf and crinkled it up to create a beautiful texture. I love my scarf and wear it a lot, many people have commented on it too :-).
