Helen Warren reviewed: Needle felt workshop Robins using rare breed British wool

"I loved the course. It was very informative but also relaxed. Louise is very approachable and passionate about felting. I have booked another course to increase my knowledge and didn’t hesitate to return to one of Louise’s courses. It is also good value and there is a very generous amount of wool to work with which is included in the price."

Chris Coleman reviewed: Wood turning courses in the Midlands

"I am an absolute beginner, but Mark's knowledge, experience and relaxed manner put you immediately at ease. I cannot rate this training highly enough - I came away with a huge amount of knowledge, advice and what feels like a full range of practical skills. I now feel confident to begin building up my own workshop and turning items! As others have said, the time flies by since Mark makes the subject so absorbing - and he really doesn't want you to finish until he has imparted as much information as he can. I will be booking again to move onto the next level! Finally I cannot finish without mentioning how modest Mark is. Anyone who has seen the pieces Mark produces will be hugely impressed by his skill and artistic vision, and yet he genuinely loves the simple activity of taking the most basic log, turning it round and making a pile of shavings. Just go ahead and book!"

Daniela reviewed: Needle felt workshop Robins using rare breed British wool

"In October 2017 I attended a robin felting workshop at Mount Pleasant with 5 friends. We all loved the day and came away with a beautiful little robin each. I'm not in the least bit artistic, so I was amazed that I could make such a lovely robin, with help from Louise. Louise is a great, hands-on teacher - she patiently took us through each step of how to needle felt, which none of us had ever done before. The cakes we're delicious too!"

"I attended this course last year, it was excellent therapeutic and creative at the same time. I learnt not only about painting and spirituality but also what I want from life. I left the course feeling relaxed and fulfilled. The days retreat was well worth £55."

Sally-Ann Hooper reviewed: Beginner hand spinning - 1 to 1 instruction

"I was given a spinning wheel on my 50th birthday, having done a degree in Textiles many years ago! So, I needed help to refresh my spinning skills, and to get the wheel going again. This was the perfect course for me, as Paivi patiently set up my wheel (I chose to learn on my own wheel, though Paivi has a few to use). She is very experienced and managed to adjust and fine-tune the different features. I spun 2 different wools, then had a quick refresher lesson in plying them together! It was inspiring to have the course in Paivi's studio, surrounded by Paivi's own work: weaving, spinning and natural dyeing, I came away with a 3rd type of wool to practice on, and was up late that night mastering my new skills! Thank you Paivi, just what I needed to kick-start my new hobby!"

"You must go on this course it is an amazing experience with a great teacher. Ricky is a natural and explains everything beautifully. The chance to try different things was a lovely surprise, presumed it would be just a paperweight and that's it but we got to experience more than that. Would defo recommend this course to anyone"

"As a total beginner, I cannot believe that I managed to make a gorgeous hare in a single day. Denise created a relaxed atmosphere where we all made an animal each with their unique personality. All this while enjoying coffee, a delicious lunch, and later tea with homemade cake! An absolutely lovely day guided by a superb teacher. I recommend this course to anyone regardless of their craft skills."

Alison Massey reviewed: Upholstery and soft furnishings 2 day course

"For excellent tuition in warm, friendly surroundings, this is a great course. Angie is a true expert in her field, full of energy and enthusiasm, helping you get the most out of your time there. The workshop is a lovely place to be with cosy wood-burner and stunning views across the valley. There are plenty of tools and materials to hand. The small group sizes mean you get lots of one-to-one attention. I have enjoyed several courses with Angie at Peak Upholstery in the past and will be back for more. Thoroughly recommended!"

Philip Whiteley reviewed: Three day course in upholstery and soft furnishings

"Having now attended several of these courses (and yes I am driven to return over and over again) my experiences have been nothing less than a total joy. Angie is a superb teacher; the people with whom I have shared these courses have been a wonderful mix of backgrounds yet very easy to gel with as we all have an instant shared interest; the classroom, view and surroundings are stunning (you will want to move in) and there is such a diverse choice of projects to bring that there is nothing that Angie cannot teach you...As a guy do I feel intimidated spending so long in the company of only women? Not at all, I chance a joke from time to time but defuse it by doing as I'm told...!!! Only joking of course, you'll love it..."

Maggie MacKenzie reviewed: Stained Glass and Pique Assiette Mosaics course

"I did a weekend mosaic course here; it was brilliant, and excellent value. Ann is patient and kind. She made me feel completely at home and welcome. The studio is extremely well stocked with a myriad of glass, tiles equipment and resources. We were encouraged to experiment, but Ann was there to help and teach when you needed her. I couldn't believe how well the mosaic I made turned out! I thoroughly enjoyed the course and have been inspired to continue mosaic making at home. It is now a passion. Oh, and the hot scones were delicious. :-)"

Debbie Harrison reviewed: Sculpture, ceramics, painting at Lucky Studio - London

"For my 50th birthday I was lucky enough to receive 5 art classes at Lucky Studios. Quite frankly I was shocked the classes were 2.5 hours long and my initial thought was "can I be bothered after a day at work" - how wrong was I? I began on Tuesday 6th February at 7.00pm with a fantastic tutor called Lucky. The next time I looked at my watch it was 9pm - the time had simply flown by and the painting I took in (which I thought was finished) - again, how wrong was I, is now back in working progress with added depth, light and it is taking shape of something much better. Learning technical skills is amazing and I cannot wait to go back next Tuesday. I am pretty sure I shall continue lessons twice a month with Lucky who is very professional but relaxed and an amazing artist and teacher. This is one of the best birthday presents I could have received. Debbie Harrison"
