Material costs are extra, dependant on which bird you choose to make.
Suitable for beginners. You will be taught and guided through the whole process by Susan Nichols who has been making sculptures from chicken wire for over 15 years. At the end of the day you will have completed a bird ready to take home.
If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
What's included in the price?
Homemade cakes and biscuits and hot drinks served throughout the day.
Materials are provided at extra cost.
If you have them, please bring an apron, gloves and needle nose pliers (if not we can lend you some), and a packed lunch (there are no nearby facilities for buying lunch).
I was quite apprehensive before going on the course as I had never done any wire sculptures before. I needn't have worried as the day was really enjoyable.
It was a small group with a very relaxed friendly atmosphere, good tuition and help and encouragement where needed (plus cake, always helps). My hands are a little arthritic but it wasn’t as hard as I thought, a bit tiring towards the end but we all managed to achieve what we set out to do.
I made a curlew which has received many compliments already. I will be back to create more wildlife.
Thank you Sue

We had a fab day with Susan making a wire goose. We were absolute beginners but with Susan's expert tuition it was made so easy and achievable. Beautiful home made cakes and bottomless cups of tea and coffee provided.
Can't wait to go back and make something else....very addictive...

An excellent day with an excellent tutor who made you feel at ease and that you could achieve. We all came home with a finished item ....and the cakes were fabulous. Great day, worth every penny, coming back soon.

Was a little apprehensive attending this workshop, as I had never done anything like this before. However Susan’s positive encouragement and great teaching points ensured that I left with a fabulous pheasant and a great sense of achievement. A great day; so much so that I will be returning soon!

A really interesting day and thanks to great support from Susan I came away with a recognisable owl! The cake and biscuits were delicious too.
