New - It’s only Natural - creating small wire sculpture in Derbyshire

Next promoted date: Saturday 29th October. Join me at The Slipper Studio on the edge of the beautiful Peak District, for a relaxing and creative day. Fine and flexible wire is a lovely material to work with, enabling you to create characterful objects, with a drawn-like quality to them and all without causing harm to your hands. We will explore joining techniques, wrapping, shaping and sculpting wire, create a range of small, decorative pieces of sculpture inspired by nature and natural forms; they are sure to take pride of place in your home. This workshop will suit folks with experience of different creative processes and techniques. About the tutor Liz Wellby is a versatile and experienced artist, teacher and maker, with a particular interest in sculpture and printmaking. Following the completion of a Fine Arts degree at Loughborough University and subsequent post graduate studies, she returned to Derbyshire, where for over 25 years she has lived and worked. Home for Liz, her husband and a cat called Bert, is now a small village on the edge of the Peak District. It is possible to arrange this workshop on different dates; should you wish to book 3* places for friends and family, the cost is £79 per person or £99 each for 2 people; please contact me via ‘message the tutor’ if this is of interest or you have any questions or queries.

What's included in the price?

The workshop will run from 10 - 4pm, with places limited to just 3* and costs £79, including: tuition, materials and use of equipment, plus refreshments served throughout the day; just bring your lunch - slippers are optional. *COVID19 update Until further notice, to allow for social distancing, workshop places at The Slipper Studio will be reduced from 5 to 3, however, if you book a tailor made workshop with family/friends, 4 people may attend. In line with government advice, a new cleaning regime is in place and you may need to wear a facial covering/mask for limited times during workshops; the studio will be well ventilated.
