Next promoted date: Friday 27th March 2026 - 5 places available. Join me at The Slipper Studio on the edge of the beautiful Peak District, for a relaxing and productive day, creating a range of Spring and Easter inspired decorations. Decorative hangings and decorations shouldn’t just be associated with the winter months and Christmas and with that in mind, Easter and the onset of Spring will be our inspiration - think Eastern European folk art, hares, Easter bunnies, plus Spring leaves and flowers. We’ll create a number of beautiful hanging pieces of various sizes and explore different methods of construction, whilst using a range of metal foils. Metal foils are great materials to explore, enabling you to cut your designs with scissors and emboss your designs with specialist tools or simply with pencils and biros. Once you have explored the processes, you’ll be able to continue making further designs at home. Your hanging decorations and wreaths are sure to take pride of place in your home this Easter and Spring, or if you can bear to part with them, they’ll make great gifts for family and friends. This workshop will suit folks with a range of experiences and all levels of ability. About the tutor: Liz Wellby is a versatile and experienced artist, teacher and maker, with a particular interest in sculpture and printmaking. Following the completion of a Fine Arts degree at Loughborough University and subsequent post graduate studies, she returned to Derbyshire, where for over 30 years she has lived and worked. Home for Liz, her husband and a cat called Bert, is now a small village on the edge of the Peak District. It is possible to arrange this workshop on different dates; should you wish to book 3 to 5 places for friends and family, the cost is £95 per person or £135 each for 2 people; please contact me via ‘message the tutor’ if this is of interest or you have any questions or queries.

What's included in the price?

The workshop runs from 10-4 pm, with places limited to 5 and costs £95 per person, including: tuition, materials and use of equipment, with refreshments provided throughout the day; just bring your lunch. As COVID and some virulent bugs are still around, it seems appropriate to maintain a number of sensible measures at The Slipper Studio: the studio will be well ventilated and hand sanitiser will be available.
