Next promoted date: Sunday 28th July - 5 places available. Join me at The Slipper Studio on the edge of the beautiful Peak District, for a relaxing and creative day. Fine and flexible wire is a lovely material to work with, enabling you to create characterful objects, with a drawn-like quality to them and all without causing harm to your hands. You’ll also get the opportunity to use recycled metal foil for embossing. We will explore joining techniques, wrapping, shaping and sculpting wire, create a range of small, decorative pieces of sculpture inspired by fish. Metal foils are also great materials to explore, enabling you to cut and emboss your designs; they are sure to take pride of place in your home. This workshop will suit folks with experience of different creative processes and techniques. About the tutor Liz Wellby is a versatile and experienced artist, teacher and maker, with a particular interest in sculpture and printmaking. Following the completion of a Fine Arts degree at Loughborough University and subsequent post graduate studies, she returned to Derbyshire, where for over 30 years she has lived and worked. Home for Liz, her husband and a cat called Bert, is now a small village on the edge of the Peak District. It is possible to arrange this workshop on different dates; should you wish to book 3 to 5 places for friends and family, the cost is £89 per person or £130 each for 2 people; please contact me via ‘message the tutor’ if this is of interest or you have any questions or queries.

What's included in the price?

The workshop runs from 10 - 4 pm, with places limited to 5 and costs £89 per person, including: tuition, materials and use of equipment, with refreshments provided throughout the day; just bring your lunch.
