Giacometti style bronzed animal sculpture one day workshop Suffolk one-to-one

Downward dog playing with a ball

Welcome to my bronzed Animal Sculpting Workshops. Giacometti style animals. You will go home at the end of the day with a beautiful unique piece of art.
This course is a wonderful way to relax and forget the worries of the world. Art is fantastic for ones mental health. You will unwind and time will fly.

About the coronavirus :
These are now 1-to-1 workshops or with a bubble buddy.
All co-vid rules will be met and implemented.
I will provide water and coffee gloves and sanitiser.

No experience is needed just a good imagination & plenty of enthusiasm.
I use a light and airy studio set on the beautiful Suffolk coastline. Sometimes I use my warm and cosy craft room.

I will demonstrate and guide you through every step as you start to create a magical animal such as a boxing hare, a playful puppy or cool cat.

My courses are run on demand.
If you have a specific date in mind please contact me. I am happy to do special occasions and add bubbles and cake.

Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 2 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.

What's included in the price?

All materials & tools provided.  I ensure each student has their own equipment. I like to create a spacious and calm environment.

We start with a wire armature that has been prepared for you. Then go on to plaster and a bronzed resin. Later in the day we will make an armature together so you can understand the technique.

You can choose the animal from Hare.. Dog or Cat to start working on. If you have a preferred choice of animal we can make that together out of wire in the afternoon. (you can take this home also)

Your piece will be totally unique and finished to take home by the end of the day.

Plenty of tea, coffee, water and biscuits available throughout the day.  Lunch is 30 to 40 minutes, please bring your own packed lunch.

My studio is friendly, fun and relaxing, suitable for all abilities and please contact me if wheel chair access is needed. Car parking is available. I have a dog that often join in so please email me pre booking, if you have an allergy or dislike of dogs.
Also for wheelchair access as there are 10 steps to the front door.
Please contact me with any questions. Di

This was a birthday gift and a wonderful day not only of making an Otter but also learning techniques so that we could develop our ideas further at home. A very inspiring setting and teacher who made such helpful suggestions on what to try to help us achieve what we had in mind.

Bought this as a gift for my wife after lockdown as it's such a therapeutic workshop. My wife and I did the course together although I made a figurative piece. Very enjoyable.

A brilliant day, a solid 11 out of 10 and I would hugely recommend giving it a go! I had the best time and the whole process is really well taught and supported by Di. It's fascinating to see your creation develop in front of you and enormously satisfying knowing it's you that's done it. Thank you Di!

Response from Art on the Edge:

Thanks Sara.

Really enjoyable day. I hope Denise approved... Lol... Excellent creation. X

Having met Di before I was excited to see her work in a professional capacity, and she doesn't disappoint! A wonderful, enthusiastic and fun tutor. As someone who doesn't consider themselves very creative I was so pleased with the cat I made. Will definitely be back for more!

A great, enjoyable workshop. Perfect combination of information, practical and group interaction. Di is brilliant and supported my initial, hesitant attempts. I left feeling very confident, pleased with my artistic experience and a beautiful bronzed dog. I am definitely returning and intend to challenge myself with a sculpted hare for the garden.
Thanks Di

Response from Art on the Edge:

Thank you Karen.

Hope he is sitting in your summer room looking at the garden. Di :)

Lovely workshop. I didn't think I would be any good at sculpture as I mostly paint. But I really enjoyed making my hare. I will continue with this craft as you don't need expensive equipment to achieve nice work. I recommend this for 2d painters. A.

Response from Art on the Edge:

Thank you.
Really enjoyed meeting you. Great work :)

This is a great course for all levels . The day I went there were students who had not made anything arty since school! Di guided them through each stage a with hands on approach.

I am a professional potter, but never done anything like this before, yet I learn new skills that I can add to my craft.

This is a very creative workshop for people with little dexterity, to those with heaps.
You will come away with a great piece of work.

Response from Art on the Edge:

Thanks Steve :)

My partner bought this for me as a valentines gift. Much better than a bunch of roses. I even got to put a written message into my sculptures heart. I made a cool dog.

Response from Art on the Edge:

Thanks Rosa for sending me this review to copy and paste on my review page. Hope to see you again. Glad you enjoyed the workshop. DI.

I made a fabulous hare. Di took us through stage by stage and it was much easier than I thought. She did help with the wire work which brought the sculpture alive. It's really good fun and we all got on so well. I feel I've made some new friends. I want to do the 2 day workshop next.

Response from Art on the Edge:

Thank you so much!

Response from Art on the Edge:

Thank you so much. I am so pleased you enjoyed it. See you in June. :)
