Course Start DatesSunday 8th March 2020
About the Course
Welcome to my Animal Sculpting Workshops.
Other dates available through out 2020. If you can't see a date suitable then please message me.
No experience is needed just a good imagination & plenty of enthusiasm.
I use a light and airy studio set on the beautiful Suffolk coastline. Some times I use my warm and cosy craft room.
I will demonstrate and guide you through every step as you start to create a magical animal such as a boxing hare, a playful puppy or cool cat.
My courses are run on most Sundays.. Some Saturdays and odd Fridays in Suffolk.
If you have a specific date in mind please contact me. I am happy to do special occasions and add bubbles and cake.
I am also available to teach one or two day courses at your chosen venue. (please contact me for pricing and number of students)
All materials and tools are provided, with numbers limited to a maximum of 8. I ensure each student has their own equipment, so no waiting to share. I like to create a spacious and calm environment.
Separate dates can be arranged for larger groups, memorable hen parties and positive team building events (please make contact for details).
To book :
I take payment via PayPal or bank transfer. A £ 50 deposit is required to secure a place. This is non refundable but is transferable to another date or venue.
If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
What's included in the price?
One day animal sculpture course.
10.am to 5pm
No experience needed as I will demonstrate and guide you through every step. All materials & tools provided.
We start with a wire armature that has been prepared for you. Later in the day we will make an armature together so you can understand the technique.
You can choose the animal from Hare.. Dog or Cat to start working on. If you have a preferred choice of animal we can make that together out of wire in the afternoon. (you can take this home also)
Your piece will be totally unique and finished to take home by the end of the day.
Plenty of tea, coffee, water and biscuits available throughout the day. Lunch is 30 to 40 minutes, please bring your own packed lunch.
My studio is friendly, fun and relaxing, suitable for all abilities and wheel chair access is possible. Car parking is available. I have 2 dogs that often join in so please email me pre booking, if you have an allergy or dislike friendly cuddly dogs.
For smaller groups I can use my craft room at my home. This is warm and cosy. Parking is available but no wheelchair access as there are 10 steps to the front door.
Please contact me with any questions. Di
I thoroughly enjoyed Di's course. Great fun. Highly recommended. Came home with a lovely sculpture of a hare.

A great, enjoyable workshop. Perfect combination of information, practical and group interaction. Di is brilliant and supported my initial, hesitant attempts. I left feeling very confident, pleased with my artistic experience and a beautiful bronzed dog. I am definitely returning and intend to challenge myself with a sculpted hare for the garden.

Lovely workshop. I didn't think I would be any good at sculpture as I mostly paint. But I really enjoyed making my hare. I will continue with this craft as you don't need expensive equipment to achieve nice work. I recommend this for 2d painters. A.

Response from Art on the Edge:Thank you.
This is a great course for all levels . The day I went there were students who had not made anything arty since school! Di guided them through each stage a with hands on approach.
I am a professional potter, but never done anything like this before, yet I learn new skills that I can add to my craft.
This is a very creative workshop for people with little dexterity, to those with heaps.
You will come away with a great piece of work.

Response from Art on the Edge:Thanks Steve :)
My partner bought this for me as a valentines gift. Much better than a bunch of roses. I even got to put a written message into my sculptures heart. I made a cool dog.

Response from Art on the Edge:Thanks Rosa for sending me this review to copy and paste on my review page. Hope to see you again. Glad you enjoyed the workshop. DI.
I made a fabulous hare. Di took us through stage by stage and it was much easier than I thought. She did help with the wire work which brought the sculpture alive. It's really good fun and we all got on so well. I feel I've made some new friends. I want to do the 2 day workshop next.

Brilliant workshop. Di is an excellent teacher. I came away with a fabulous bronzed dog. We had such fun and I feel I have achieved so much. I'm definitely coming back with some friends. I have bought it as gift for my mums birthday. Thanks Di, he's in the garden.
