About the Course
Have you ever wanted to learn how to create your own handwoven fabric?
Set within a relaxed home studio in the Surrey countryside, this beginner’s workshop will allow you to try weaving various weave structures on a pre-warped 4 shaft Table Loom and give you the basics of how fabric is constructed. You will be able to choose from a variety of yarns to design and weave your very own piece of fabric which you can take home.
With only two Table Looms running per session, it allows hands on help and freedom to ask as many questions as you like!
Ideal for complete beginners or those wanting a refresher in weaving.
The first part of the session will go through the weaving process, tell you how the loom has been set up and an explanation given of different structures you can try during the session
The second part is where you will be able to start weaving, exploring yarns and structures.
The third part is when you will be able to weave one larger sample.

A booklet with notes and technical information
I signed up to the Beginners Weaving Workshop to learn a bit more about the process of weaving and making your own fabric. Rebecca expertly guided us through the basic mechanics, terminology and art of weaving, without bombarding or overwhelming us with technical jargon. She is an extremely knowledgeable and enthusiastic teacher and rather than feeling like we were being led through the motions, we were gently encouraged to have a go, be creative and experiment. The atmosphere was relaxed yet industrious and the three hours flew by. I have come away with a one-of-a-kind piece of handwoven fabric and the urge to weave again! Thank you Rebecca for a lovely morning.

What a lovely way to spend a few hours. Rebecca made the process so easy to follow - before I knew it I was weaving a tartan style piece of woollen cloth. She demystified the loom (a fearful looking engine) and answered all my questions thoroughly.
A really helpful introduction to weaving with a table loom. Highly recommended.

I attended the beginners weaving class today with my mum and we had the best time. Rebecca is a great teacher, she makes you feel relaxed and gives you the space to experiment with the loom. She combines knowledge with enthusiasm to provide a fun morning. I have attended many craft courses over the years and this has to be one of the best.

Rebecca explained patiently and concisely and very quickly we were actually weaving. Really pleased with what we produced and would come again. Lovely cup of tea and cake too!

Had a fantastic morning with Rebecca learning some of the basics of loom weaving. Rebecca was very patient with the many questions I had. The course was very flexible allowing my friend and I to explore and create in our own directions but offering us guidance when we needed it. Thoroughly enjoyable and very relaxing.

A great introduction to weaving. An interesting explanation to the loom and how it is set up and then you have a go! Rebecca answered my numerous questions very patiently. It was great to try out different patterns and to come away with a piece of woven material that I had done. I'll be back to weave another piece again.

I had a wonderful morning with Rebecca. She made the inexplicably complexities of weaving understandable to a complete novice. By the end of the session I had weaved a beautiful sample to frame incorporating various techniques. Rebecca is passionate, incredibly knowledgable about weaving (she has a weaving degree) and a patient and thoughtful teacher. In addition, she makes rather good cookies too!

I had a fantastic morning of weaving on this course. I felt slightly overwhelmed when I first looked into the loom but before I knew it Rebecca had explained the main technical bits and I was weaving. As soon as Rebecca saw that I needed some help or a tip that would help she was there…I also enjoyed asking her a myriad of other weaving questions which she was more than happy to answer.
I have booked my next lesson already!

The course with Dobby and Rose is amazing! Becci is full of weaving knowledge and answered all of my questions. She is also very patient which was appreciated as I am new to weaving. It was lovely to come away with a sample that I had made. I highly recommend the course!
