Glass Fusion reviewed: Fused glass day course - beginners/intermediate

"Thoroughly enjoyed the day spent making my bowl and coaster. Nicky was a great host and was so encouraging and supportive. It was the first time I had worked with glass but her patient teaching made it a success and I was thrilled with the final product. I'm looking forward to coming back to develop my skills. Highly recommended!"

Samantha Smith reviewed: Realistic and Adorable Needle Felt Animals & Pets

"I would highly recommend this course, it's such a lovely day for many reasons. I'd never done any needlefelt before and was so pleased with my little dog. Sophie's tuition was excellent, and the group size is small, so good for a novice! Very nice surroundings, great food and a lovely bunch of other felters."

"I was nervous before going but I loved the atmosphere of the course. I felt it was just right for me who is not very advanced. We made a lovely purse bag and everybody was easy to chat to. Baz Wilkinson reviewed: Woodcarving for beginners - two day course in Suffolk

"I completed Gerry’s 2 day course 3 weeks ago and I’m still buzzing from the whole experience. As a total beginner to wood carving, this course and Gerry’s fantastic teaching has inspired me to continue wood carving. In 2 days I created a piece of woodwork that I ( and my wife and friends) never thought I would be able to create with my own hands! A huge thank you to Gerry for giving me this experience and all the information and knowledge he passed on re: tools, technique, sharpening, and all I need to get started and having the confidence to continue. A huge thank you to Gerrys wife for the wonderful lunch we were treated to on both days. I went asking myself the question whether this was something that I can do and want to do as a hobby. I have come away with a resounding YES to both. I fully recommend this course."

Sue Walker reviewed: Needle felt workshop Robins using rare breed British wool

"I attended a class in Felting Mice, with Louise at Mount Pleasant in September 2017. I had a wonderful day and learned lots from Louise. I had previously tried to make a felted mouse on my own, I watched YouTube videos, but was very unsure of what I was doing and decided that I needed some proper tuition. The mice were important to me, as I wanted to make them as a small hand made gift for my son and his bride on their wedding day. I dressed the groom in a kilt (the same tartan that my son was wearing) and the bride with a lace veil and a tiny bouquet. They were a huge success, chiefly because Louise took a great deal of time to show me any technique that I was unsure of. Louise is a very calm, friendly lovely person. She obviously loves felting, her own models are exquisite! She loves sharing her skill and expertise with her students. The class is relaxed and lots of fun. It is non competitive, and Louise ensured that all students received the attention needed. I never felt that I was being a nuisance when I asked questions and I was delighted with the mouse I made at the class and enjoyed making another at home. I have since made several robins, from a kit I bought from Louise, they too are lovely and I found the instructions in the kit easy to follow. I am looking forward to attending another course very soon. It is a great day out, good value for money, and the cake and coffee at Mount Pleasant is delicious too! Thanks Louise!"

David Greer reviewed: Wood turning courses in the Midlands

"Thank you so much for the days tuition Mark, purchased for me a Christmas present. I had great time with you at your workshop. Your patience and encouragement with a complete beginner made for a very relaxed and thoroughly enjoyable experience. I am very proud of the bowl I came away with (even if there was some of your input into it!). I look forward to getting my ancient lathe up and running in the not too distant future. Thanks again and best regards."

Philip Milln reviewed: Woodturning courses in Hampshire - Beginners and improvers wood turning courses - Turn British, all British lathes!!

"A well equipped workshop and an inspiring teacher come together to introduce the concept of wood turning. A first class introduction to answer the question 'Is this for me?' with a hands on and safe experience that gives a real feel of the art of turning so you can get started . This first experience ends with taking home a bowl that you make yourself. When I go for my next lesson, I want to wreck pieces of wood to focus on technique of applying blade to surface."

Eileen reviewed: PickOne weekend weaving course

"This weekend weaving course is outstanding. James provides excellent one-on-one training in a bright and colorful environment. Each student has a hand in choosing the yarn color and pattern and is able to weave their very own project by the end of the course, which can extend after the weekend by taking the loom home. As a complete beginner, I felt increasingly confident as we learned the whole process of weaving, from warping the loom to finishing the scarf. I highly recommend this course to beginners as well as experienced weavers."

Frances Ford reviewed: 'Art of Stained Glass' - Oldbury, Birmingham

"Had an awsome three days with Jamal. Having read some of his previous reviews it's difficult to say more, but I have to emphasise how well he conveys technique and approach. What a pleasure it was to be tutored by him. I came away feeling I had learned something valuable, I felt satisfied instead of frustrated at not achieving what I wanted to and desparate to get on and put it into practice. Thankyou for sharing your creativity and expertise."

Helen Warren reviewed: Needle felt workshop Robins using rare breed British wool

"I loved the course. It was very informative but also relaxed. Louise is very approachable and passionate about felting. I have booked another course to increase my knowledge and didn’t hesitate to return to one of Louise’s courses. It is also good value and there is a very generous amount of wool to work with which is included in the price."

Chris Coleman reviewed: Wood turning courses in the Midlands

"I am an absolute beginner, but Mark's knowledge, experience and relaxed manner put you immediately at ease. I cannot rate this training highly enough - I came away with a huge amount of knowledge, advice and what feels like a full range of practical skills. I now feel confident to begin building up my own workshop and turning items! As others have said, the time flies by since Mark makes the subject so absorbing - and he really doesn't want you to finish until he has imparted as much information as he can. I will be booking again to move onto the next level! Finally I cannot finish without mentioning how modest Mark is. Anyone who has seen the pieces Mark produces will be hugely impressed by his skill and artistic vision, and yet he genuinely loves the simple activity of taking the most basic log, turning it round and making a pile of shavings. Just go ahead and book!"

Daniela reviewed: Needle felt workshop Robins using rare breed British wool

"In October 2017 I attended a robin felting workshop at Mount Pleasant with 5 friends. We all loved the day and came away with a beautiful little robin each. I'm not in the least bit artistic, so I was amazed that I could make such a lovely robin, with help from Louise. Louise is a great, hands-on teacher - she patiently took us through each step of how to needle felt, which none of us had ever done before. The cakes we're delicious too!"

Sally-Ann Hooper reviewed: Beginner hand spinning - 1 to 1 instruction

"I was given a spinning wheel on my 50th birthday, having done a degree in Textiles many years ago! So, I needed help to refresh my spinning skills, and to get the wheel going again. This was the perfect course for me, as Paivi patiently set up my wheel (I chose to learn on my own wheel, though Paivi has a few to use). She is very experienced and managed to adjust and fine-tune the different features. I spun 2 different wools, then had a quick refresher lesson in plying them together! It was inspiring to have the course in Paivi's studio, surrounded by Paivi's own work: weaving, spinning and natural dyeing, I came away with a 3rd type of wool to practice on, and was up late that night mastering my new skills! Thank you Paivi, just what I needed to kick-start my new hobby!"

"You must go on this course it is an amazing experience with a great teacher. Ricky is a natural and explains everything beautifully. The chance to try different things was a lovely surprise, presumed it would be just a paperweight and that's it but we got to experience more than that. Would defo recommend this course to anyone"
