Description

I love providing this lovely workshop where participants will learn how to make charming piglets out of willow withies I will guide the group through the process, providing step-by-step instructions and tips for shaping the stems into a piglet form. At the end of the workshop, each participant will have a unique and adorable willow piglet to take home and display. Whether you are an experienced crafter or a beginner looking to try something new, this workshop is a fun and rewarding way to unleash your creativity and learn a new skill. I look forward to sharing my love of willow weaving with you and helping you create a unique keepsake to treasure for years to come. As we all work at different speeds, I aim to get you to the stage where you have created a recognizable sculpture that you feel confident to carry on at home should you wish to do so if you haven't completed it in the session. Please note if this is your first workshop using Willow, please note that working with Willow can be tough on the hands, so if you struggle with hand strength, pinching. Twisting movements etc., please do contact me in advance to chat about whether the workshop will be suitable for you to attend If you are not sure, feel free to contact me If you have any questions, please click 'message the tutor'. If you need to cancel the workshop after the four-week cancellation period has gone, please contact me as I may be able to transfer your booking to a different class or fill the space

What’s included in the price? Tuition,with willow sculptor Jacquie from Willow and Crafts All materials and use of tools .you are welcome to bring your own. Information about how to source and prepare materials as well as how to look after your creations when you take them home. Light refreshments, basic refreshments tea, coffee, fruit juice cakes etc Please also bring an apron or clothing you like working in, lunch. And a bucket if you prefer to sit on the floor please bring a cushion I will send you joining instructions approximately one week before the class is due to take place.

Hello, I am a willow sculptor / artist based near Southampton in Hampshire. You will often find me outside under my shelter making sculptures or outside creating work from materials that I have found. I teach in a variety of venues in and around Hampshire, as well as exhibiting my work at various art shows. I create work to commission as well as providing bespoke workshops for private and public events and projects.

"This was my birthday treat, creating bird feeder to learn techniques, then scaling up to create a garden obelisk in the afternoon. Jackie shared her knowledge of different willows and techniques - fascinating to see the different interpretations of the same tuition. The day was rounded off by creating 'dragonfly' shapes using similar techniques to making corn dollies. Feel quite satisfied today as I remembered how to make them and made two more 'dragonflies'. Thoroughly enjoyed the day doing something completely different."
