Jane Valerie reviewed: 2-Day Leather Bag Making Course

"I have just done Rebecca's two day leather handbag course, and am now the proud owner of a fantastic bag. The course was interesting, informative, educational and great fun. All the students got on well and shared their pleasure in their completed bags. Rebecca is a very patient teacher, explaining the processes of leather production, pattern making, cutting, and using industrial sewing machines. I would be very happy to recommend Rebecca and her courses to anyone."

Emma reviewed: Pottery Tuition ~ Learn how to Throw on the Potter's Wheel, Slab-build and Coil in 1 Full Day's Attentive Teaching

"I had a lovely day with Sonya exploring pottery for the first time! It was wonderful to have the one to one tuition. This meant the day could flow naturally with what I found I enjoyed most and where I felt I'd like to get more experience. Sonya was a fantastic teacher, she gave me lots of different methods and ideas of how to work with the clay so that I could find what worked best for me. I am so pleased with the pots that we made together. I made 3 bowls, a large vase and finally managed to make a little jug after many failed attempts! I can't believe what we managed to do just in the one day. A testament to some really patient and creative teaching from Sonya. I'm now looking forward to glazing the pots and having the finished pieces at home. Thank you!"

Sonya Ceramic Art responded:

"Hi Emma, thank you so much for your lovely review. I'm so pleased you found the day so enjoyable and useful. Yes it was so rewarding to see you produce so many final pieces, especially seeing this was your first time - they will look fantastic when they are glazed! See you soon. Best Wishes, Sonya."

Steve Goldacre reviewed: One Day Pottery Throwing Course, including lunch - Hampshire

"I completed the one day throwing course, and it was excellent from start to finish. Jack was a great host and teacher. As some others have commented, Jack gives good clear instruction, and lets you work at a pace that suits you. Because the class is restricted to 4 people, Jack can keep a keen eye on everyone's progress and step in when needed. Great lunch too. If you're considering having a go at pottery, stop deliberating and sign-up... you won't be disappointed!"

Emma reviewed: Make a textured wrap ring

"The silver wrap around ring course is a great introduction to jewellery making. Throughout the course you learn lots of new techniques and best of all walk away with a bespoke, personalised ring at the end. Rose's teaching style is relaxed, well structured and informative. The workshop is excellently kitted out and tea, biscuits and chat are in plentiful supply. Would definitely recommend."

"Thanks a lot for a great day, it was thoroughly enjoyable and I am proud of my efforts and resulting spoon (though my kids are less impressed ;-). The setting is spot on, the teachers are knowledgeable and super friendly and the tools very sharp indeed (lol!). I will be back with my friend for sure. If anyone is reading this comment, do not hesitate, do this workshop, you won't regret it one bit, I give you my word!"

Walderchain Wood responded:

"Thank you for your review. We're glad you enjoyed the day. Love to see you back here, if you come in the summer months we should be out in the woodland teaching area. ATB Mark"

Karen Buckley reviewed: Felt Making Pictures -Introduction

"Had a lovely day doing Jo’s course. Jo is clearly very experienced and enthusiastic about what she does and fortunately for us, knows how to teach felt making to beginners. She had lots of wool we can use in many beautiful colours. Everyone made amazing felt pieces. It’s also a really relaxing process and very satisfying to create something so lovely to take home. I also felt I got a good understanding of the process, which was an added bonus. I totally recommend this course with Jo. She is also very warm, friendly and helpful and makes everyone feel welcome. For a one interested in art and felt making, this course is not to be missed."

Yvonne reviewed: Linocut one day workshop: one to one

"My son and I spent a wonder day with Annette on Sunday. She immediately put us at our ease and her warmth, enthusiasm and passion spilled over as she gave us a tour of the shop/studios at the beginning of our visit. We both really enjoyed the lino cut workshop and found the whole experience relaxing and rewarding. Her patience and kindness in helping us through the process from initial mark making and experimentation to inking up and trying out different ways to use the templates we'd made has really inspired me to go on and try it myself at home. I have never considered myself to be at all artistic, but with her expertise, guidance, reassurance and encouragement I now feel that I could produce something to be proud of. I can't wait to have a go."

I would recommend without hesitation, great value for money."

Robin Hollands reviewed: 1 to 1 Bladesmithing or Blacksmithing

"I very much enjoyed my introduction to bladesmithing today, despite the rain! We were shown how to make "Yorkshire" Viking knives, which included a fair bit of blacksmithing in the handles, as well as forging the blades themselves. The instructors were great; knowledgeable and helpful and able to fix up the various little mistakes we all made at some point. There's a lot to cover in a day and things did get a little rushed towards the end, but we all went home with unique creations, and a better appreciation of the craft. Highly recommended."

"I tried stone carving for the first time with John Davey last Summer. I was a complete novice and apprehensive but every step of the way John offered advice and encouragement. His skill is amazing both as a mason and a teacher. I would recommend him to everyone as a brilliant introduction to this art. Also ask to see his portfolio as all his work is inspirational!"
