What a lovely way to spend a Sunday morning, sitting in a beautiful kitchen with lovely people, learning how to make a soy candle, choose fragrances and blends, chatting about why it's important to trim the wick and burn your candle properly, highly recommend. Oh and added bonus of homemade crumble and amazing coffee!
Gillian Greenshields - - #22760
I had a wonderful day at the candle making course this morning .... who knew you should cut your candle wick each time you use a candle! Learned loads, Kerry was a fantastic, knowledgeable and enthusiastic host. Would highly recommend this course to anyone looking to spend a very relaxing morning creating lovely candles. A+++

Would thoroughly recommend this.

Just spent a lovely Saturday morning with Kerrylyn learning the do's and don'ts of candlemaking. Done in the friendly, warm, informal environment of Kerrylyn's home, we were introduced to a world we knew very little about until today, and all conducted by the loveliest of hostesses. I would highly recommend this activity for a fun and rewarding day out.
IRIS CLARK - - #22433
Had the most lovely Sunday morning on Kerry's candle making workshop. We were welcomed in to her lovely home, where Kerry explained her reasons for starting her own business, showed us how to make our own candles, our own oil fragrance and explained the right and wrong ways to burn candles.
Kerry was extremely friendly and knowledgeable in her craft. Once we had made our candles and fragrance, Kerry served up a very delicious warm crumble with cuppa, which gave us more time to chat to others in the group and ask any questions we may have, I also purchased a starter pack for a very reasonable price. I have made a scent that I hope to use in making my own candles for my wedding day.
I would definitely recommend to anyone and will be back for the Christmas workshop.
Kerry Ellis - - #22259
Excellent course, made very welcome and very interesting to hear all about various types of candles

Kirsty Allan - - #22183
A brilliant way to spend a Sunday morning. Interesting and informative session in a relaxed friendly environment. Kerry is the perfect person to learn from - friendly, warm, knowledgeable and enthusiastic about her work. I gained knowledge on different aspects of candles (never realised there was so much to know) and left with the lovely candle I made. I also mixed another fragrance which I brought home too.
All this with tea, coffee and a lovely fruit crumble (completely free from nuts, dairy, gluten etc. ), so safe for everyone.
Terrific gift to receive and would recommend it to everyone. Even those who think they cannot make anything!
Sheila McIntosh - - #22176
What a lovely morning! The setting is lovely, Kerry is a fabulous host and makes great crumble!! We learnt loads about candle making, and how to get the most out of your candles. We were able to choose a scent for our candles, a candle you’d usually spend about £20 on!! Then we made our own custom scent with Kerry’s help to use in future candle making or on oil burners. It was such a lovely and relaxing morning! I would definitely recommend!
Lorna Burrows - - #21781
I was given a voucher for Kerry’s candle making workshop and it has been a great gift. The workshop was informative and fun. Kerry is knowledgeable, hospitable and friendly and the whole experience was relaxed, with a few giggles along the way. There’s a great satisfaction in choosing and mixing aromas. As well as making my candle there was another treat, a fabulous homemade crumble with our coffee! I can thoroughly recommend a workshop and I’m really hoping I can go back for a Christmas workshop too.
Karen Bywater - - #21731
Fantastic insight to candle making, didn't know there were so many options to use in candle making in terms of the wax to use to make the right product. Kerry was very knowledgable and not afraid to share her trade secrets and early failures. An amazing array of scents to make use of when designing your own individual fragrance. Coffee was great, company was great, the fruit crumble was superb much better than aunt Bessie’s any day of the week. Will certainly be back for more hints and tips. Could wax lyrical all day, a truly wonderful gift to give to anyone looking for something different. Thanks for having us.
Can To Candle - - #21724

I would have no hesitation in recommending and am already thinking about booking again for the future.

This is my second candle workshop with Kerry and it was just as informative and fun as the first. The workshops are held in Kerry’s home so there is a lovely relaxed and homely feel to them and the home baked delicious crumble definitely added to that!
Thanks again Kerry and I’ll definitely be booking another workshop nearer to Christmas so I can add extra skills to my hobby.

What a wonderful way to spend a Sunday morning! Kerry runs this course from her stunning home in the picturesque village of Temple. You learn so much in a short space of time, get to meet like-minded crafters and even get your own candle and scent mix to take away. Can't recommend highly enough!
Emma Scott - - #20414
Very well organised with great communication before course. There was an ease to the booking and then finding the venue. Kerrys base is her gorgeous kitchen with was beautifully set up for us arriving. Refreshments were on offer throughout the workshop and a bonus was the homemade fruit crumble halfway through. Very informative and we all made a lovely candle to take away and a fragrance blend. Discussions about types of wax, containers, why candles burn wrong and how to use - this really did answer a lot of questions I had. This was a great workshop and I would thoroughly recommend..
Nikki Laidlaw - - #20406

Thoroughly enjoyed this workshop! A fun and informative class beautifully presented. Kerrylyn is warm and friendly and the setting of the class is soooo inviting! The pace and length is just right, and Kerrylyn delivers it all perfectly in a well thought out structure. Lara Fitzgerald - - #20377
Loved it thank you 🤗
Nicki lawrence - - #20250
Went along to Kerry's class and had a lovely morning learning about and making my own beautifully scented candle. She has lovely personal touches ready, our own personal labels already printed, so a lot of thought and work goes into the preparation. My sisters and my daughter came along too. Great idea for birthday and Christmas gift for them and they were chuffed to come away with their own candles and personal scent to experiment with.
Good communication ahead of the visit so I knew where I was going, and I had an idea of what scents I might like before I got there as I had sent for some sample from Kerry beforehand.
She provided a delicious fruit crumble too and tea or coffee so we felt very well looked after. Lovely morning out!!
Freda Hood - - #20055
Absolutely fabulous workshop. Loved every minute. Thanks so much
Sam Curriec - - #20000

Amazing rural setting within a kitchen workshop, very quaint, very relaxed. Will be recommending this workshop to all my friends 💕
Anne O’Rourke - - #19923
Super course! Beautiful setting to spend the morning - Temple is a gorgeous wee village and Kerry's home is lovely. There were the right amount of people to create a great atmosphere, but not so many that it felt overcrowded or impersonal. You learn loads of interesting and useful information for candle making (and using/buying in terms of quality, etc) and the candles we made were just gorgeous. You also get the chance to blend your own scent for a future candle, which is a lot of fun! The tea and fruit crumble provided were the icing on the cake. Thanks Kerry, I will certainly be recommending this!
Lizzie - - #19919
Had a great time with Kerry from Can to Candle learning all about the art of making candles. Kerry is very knowledgeable and enthusiast. She also makes a delicious crumble too. Lovely way to spend a Sunday morning. Can’t wait to try out my candle.
Joanne Poate - - #19654
I had a lovely morning spent with a bunch of lovely ladies (and one dragged along husband), learning lots about candles, making them, burning them and caring for them. Everything we needed was easily accessible on the table and all details had been thought of including our personalised stickers to put on our finished candles.
Kerry was full of knowledge and was able to answer all our questions. The fresh coffee and homemade berry crumble was the icing on the cake. I would definitely recommend and return to Kerry's courses in the future.
Leigh Wallace - - #19350
Brilliant morning spent making candles with Kerry, at her charming cottage in Temple. She is full of knowledge on all things candles; we learnt about different types of wax, the proper way to care for (and burn) a candle, had a go at concocting our own 'scents', along with pouring our very own candle.
I thoroughly enjoyed my time there, and as an additional treat, Kerry had made a homemade crumble which we shared at break time, and mingled with other candle makers. Was a wonderful experience, which i'd highly recommend. I'll definitely be booking on to one of the Christmas sessions!
Zara Brown - - #19290
I attended a candle making course at Can Candle owned by Kerrylyn Bell after receiving the voucher from my daughter. I had the most amazing morning in Kerrylyn’s kitchen set up with a huge variety of fragrances and everything needed to make my bespoke candle. The ambiance was fabulous. Kerrylyn has the art of being able to pass on her knowledge in a way that make it fun but I must say I learned so much too. The quality of the products is 1st class and I will be giving vouchers to everyone I now to enjoy the time making their own bespoke candle. I thoroughly enjoyed the homemade crumble too x thank you Kerrylyn for one of the most fabulous Saturday mornings I’ve spent in a long time x
Marrianne Macdonald - - #19257
This was great present from my son, giving me time out and a bespoke scented candle at the end of the morning. Kerry oozes with enthusiasm and knowledge in the course of the morning and we discover there is much more to making candles and specifically perfumed ones than you might imagine.
Nurtured by all the lovely scents and delicious crumble it was a great way to start the day.

The Upcycled Coach - - #18073
It's been an absolute pleasure to meet Kerry and have the opportunity to do a workshop with her. The beautiful kitchen welcomes you with a fragrant lovely smell of her own candles burning. Wooden logs with essential oils and everything ready on your seat, taking care of the smallest detail with her design labels, care bag, notes of the workshop, pencil, digital scales, etc.
She has lots of knowledge from her own experience that she shares in a really easy way to understand and this is done when you enjoy a nice cuppa or coffee. Once you do the candle and is left to set she also offered an amazing homemade apple crumble. After that, it's time for your own blend that she explains with detail. Finally, she let you know about bad candle burning, how to avoid tunnel in your candles at home, the minimum and maximum length of time to burn a candle at home, etc.
A highly recommend workshop for anyone that likes this craft and I can guarantee that it's so therapeutic. I definitely can't wait to practice my new skills I have learned today.
Ester - - #17978

Emma Watt - - #17359
Went with my sister in law after we had enjoyed the candles at a fair over the summer. We had a really wonderful time! Kerry was a wonderful host and explained each section brilliantly. The place smelt amazing and was so welcoming and warm. We made our own scented candle, then learnt how to make our own sent to use in a future candle. Everyone on the course was so lovely! We came away so happy and excited about making our own candles in the future. I would highly recommend this course to anyone looking for a gift for a crafty friend or a fun morning out with friends. I would also say, having looked into other craft courses, this was really good value for money!
Rachel Hewitt - - #17350
Cannot recommend this course highly enough! The setting was wonderful (Kerry's house) and the set up very welcoming. Kerry is very knowledgeable (who knew I was burning candles wrong for all these years!) and was happy to share her wisdom. The range of scents for adding to your candle was very good and included things like lavender, chocolate, basil, bergamot, lime, mandarin which meant that every taste was catered for. We also mixed up our own scent to add to a future candle. The end product looked very professional and I have now got my Christmas presents sorted - thanks Kerry!
Christine Donaldson - - #16848
As a seasoned workshop participant I can genuinely recommend this as one of the best, not merely in relation to creativity but also value for money. There’s a real ‘feel good’ vibe and a sense of nurturing and wellbeing. To take home a candle I would be happy to gift to anyone was the icing on the cake. I knew a bit about candle making but learned so much more from Kerrylyn who seems to be a natural teacher. Looking forward to the next one already.
Sharon Simpson - - #16845
Picture perfect setting, welcoming host. I arrived harassed and exhausted and was immediately calmed by the site of the layout of the room. Farmhouse vibes, wood, rustic yet uber uber chic. The class was friendly informative and inspiring. Entirely satisfying coming away with a candle that has been made from scratch and scented the way I wanted. The whole set up was Instagram heaven but I had phone firmly off and enjoyed the whole process just as was. Fab coffee and cake and Kerry was full of soul and energy. Will definitely recommend and would be lovely for all age groups.
Samantha Wells - - #16835
Kerry welcomed us into her lovely kitchen and offered us tea or coffee. The workshop was very well organised and very informative. I was visiting from Ireland and I was able to return home with a lovely hand-made (by me) souvenir. Scents that Kerry has are so numerous, and fantastic.

Awesome candle making workshop just finished at http://cantocandle.com/product-category/candle-making-workshops/ . Learnt loads and I made my own rhubarb and strawberry candle and my own blend of candle fragrance oil, almond and apple.
Kerry lives in a lovely old stone school house in a beautiful village full of stone cottages.
I had the company of 9 other ladies on the course around a massive country kitchen table. The teacher Kerry is lovely. Coffee on arrival and coffee and cake mid morning was a lovely treat and it was even gluten free cake so I could have it.
My smell sense is so heightened after a morning of smelling so many different lovely candle fragrance oils and the act of making a candle is so relaxing and enjoyable.
Kerry gave us all the information sheet to take away which was really helpful so I could just concentrate and enjoy the workshop without having to take notes.
I would recommend this workshop to anyone.

Kerry was a lovely host and tutor. I bought myself and a friend this workshop for our Birthday presents and we had an absolute ball. Kerry makes you feel very relaxed; everything is prepared ready for you and it was very professional. Kerry has amazing knowledge and is willing to share. We poured a candle, fragranced it and made our own fragrance. You took away everything you made.
The smell of the oils was divine and it was great fun designing your own fragrance. I am not normally at all crafty or arty and I loved my morning with Kerry. The other guests were fun too and everyone got on really well.
Not only good fun but I learnt a new skill too.

A lovely way to spend a Saturday morning, starting with a delicious cup of coffee in Kerry's beautiful country kitchen. I didn't know that there was so much involved in making a good candle and I'll be looking suspiciously at the very cheap ones from now on! Kerry had everything prepared, and has a friendly, relaxing manner that makes one feel at ease immediately. She explained everything involved in making a candle, in terms that were easy to understand. Choosing the fragrance for my own candle was fun, and later on we mixed our own fragrances too. The instructions on how to burn a candle properly were very illuminating and I'm looking forward to burning my own now it has cured for a week. A highly enjoyable workshop (with cake and coffee halfway through - Kerry is also an excellent baker!).
Coline - - #13970
The course was an excellent blend of fun and learning. Kerry is very knowledgeable and is able to communicate that knowledge in a lively and enjoyable way. The setting, in Kerry's old world kitchen, is so relaxing and welcoming. I found the Saturday morning course just perfect. There were six participants and Kerry's relaxed style soon breaks the ice and has everyone talking and laughing. The cake and coffee was delicious. I have come away with information about suppliers and candle making as well as with the confidence that I will make candles at home for gifts. I would highly recommend this workshop even if you were going along on your own.
Marion - - #13827
Had a fab time at workshop on Saturday. Very relaxed friendly and informative. Would definitely recommend this workshop.
Alison - - #13826
What an excellent way to spend a Saturday morning! Kerry is an excellent teacher and is very knowledgeable about candle making. We made our own candles after picking from some amazing fragrances. Whilst waiting for our candles to set we mixed our own scent from Kerry’s wide selection after learning about the scents, different types of wax and how to burn candles - yes there are right and wrong ways!! It was great to learn a new technique and produce our very own candles- can’t wait to burn it!
Kirsty - - #13823
We had a wonderful time at Kerry’s candle making workshop! The workshop takes place in a beautiful, country kitchen where Kerry teaches many great tips and methods for making lovely candles. We learned about different frangrances before creating our own unique frangrance. I’ve already used mine in an oil burner and love it! I would definitely recommend this workshop for people looking for a creative experience with friends or anyone with an interest in learning about starting a business in candle making. The cake and tea also went down very well :) thanks for a brilliant morning!

As we were a large group (14) Kerry had organised the class in the village hall which was the ideal setting - the set up was beautiful. The class was just the right amount of practical candle making, interesting info and lots of laughs. Kerry was a wonderful host! She provided tea and cake and even some bubbles at the end of the workshop. We all had a brilliant morning and my sister loved it. Well I never realised there was so much to candles. Kerry not only explained the science behind different waxes and fragrances she told us how to get the best out of any candle. We all produced our own candle, with the fragrance of our choice and were able to take it away after the session.
The workshop ( Kerry's kitchen) had just been featured in 'Period Living' and was a joy to be in. Kerry made sure we were all happily fed with her home made cake and had plenty of tea/coffee on hand.
Graham - - #12639
So pleased to come away with a perfect scented candle in a glass! Delicious cake and coffee in Kerry's lovely kitchen, and lots of information on how to make, and look after your candle. If you do it right, it will last for 50 hours! Impatient, as I have to wait a week before using it! As well as Kerry's own candles and related products, there are great starter kits available to buy and take home, all at special student prices!
Candle making Workshop - - #12638
Candle Making - What a lovely start to a Sunday morning. The workshop was relaxed, informative and fun. Kerry's enthusiasm for candle making really shines through and she eagerly passes on her wealth of knowledge to everyone. You leave the workshop with some great tips on how to get the most out of your candles by burning them in the correct way - no more wasted candles!! You choose your own fragrance oil and make your very own candle to take home. The end result is a beautifully presented natural soy wax candle in a glass container - very professional!!
Kerry is very engaging and made us all feel at home from start to finish. We also enjoyed coffee and homemade cake which was delicious.
I would highly recommend this workshop and I am really looking forward to the next one.

What a totally lovely morning I had at Kerry's candle making workshop yesterday. Had a Lovely Morning in Temple on the Candle making workshop. Kerry made me welcome from the start (emails) and gave a lovely warm welcome as I entered her home then a 'Grand' cup of tea. Kerry is very informative about candle making and even told us about her 'mishaps' in the beginning of her journey. I was able to mingle with others who were there and choose the scent I wanted for my own candle from her amazing collection of scents. After blending the scent and wax together and pouring this in to the tin we had a a slice of yummy cake and another cup of tea.
I had a lovely morning and would highly recommend this course to anyone. I was even able to buy a starter kit (or two) and some fragrances to make some more candles.
Kerry, Thank You and look forward to seeing you again for the next one!
Anne Mather - - #10399
This is the first course I've been on after a very long term illness. Kerry made me feel very welcome and relaxed. She took into account that I'm hard of hearing and placed me closest to her. She is a wonderful teacher and host. Although I knew some of the information about making candles, Kerry provided so much more during this course. She also gave me the confidence to try to make candles by myself which is a big step for me. She has instilled a passion within me to go and produce candles and that there will be mistakes made but that's ok, all part of the learning. For the first time in many years I feel excited and I can't wait to start poring my own candles in the Highlands. Kerry, you're a wonderful lady and I can't thank you enough x xx
Heather Reid - - #10240
What a great way to spend a Saturday morning! Kerry is a natural host; warm, friendly and extremely knowledgeable about her craft.
Kerry's beautiful home was the perfect location for the workshop and she made us all feel so welcome even providing the most delicious homemade scones and fresh coffee.

It was great to share the morning with a lovely bunch of people and really interesting to see all the different amazing5 scents everyone chose for their very own hand poured candle. I can't wait to light mine - currently following the candle making rules and letting it 'cure' for seven days!
I would wholeheartedly recommend this course and wish Kerry every success.

I had no idea what to expect when I was given a voucher for this workshop for mothers day. It turned out to be a wonderful experience. We received a warm welcome and refreshments from our host before entering the realms of candlemaking. I could never have anticipated how much was involved. The information was delivered in a relaxed atmosphere with freely flowing questions from the group. Kerry provided all the answers to all the questions you have about the candles you buy that maybe don’t burn the way you expect! We all got to choose our scent and make our own candle. and came away with a handout with all the information we needed to do it all ourselves at home. A fantastic workshop full of information and fun! Kerry explained clearly the different types of waxes, oils and of course gave us the chance to make our own "can to candle" product. I took my teenage daughter and we both had a lot of fun, hopefully a new hobby we can both share! Kerry was a first class teacher (and her scones were yummy too!)

What a fabulous way to spend a morning; surrounded by candles, fragrances and good company. Kerry generously shares her knowledge, experiences and expertise as a candlemaker in the relaxing atmosphere of her beautiful kitchen. A warm welcome awaits anyone who is interested in learning the process of candle-making and by making one yourself to take away, you get to make the experience last that little while (actually quite a long while as you will be using soy wax to make your candles!) longer. I can highly recommend this course to anyone who is looking to start a new hobby or who is just looking for a little bit of quality "me" time. Thank you Kerry for a great morning and I look forward to seeing your business go from strength to strength. x

A natural host and story teller,Kerry makes you feel welcome from start to finish. Her genuine enthusiasm for her products shines through as she takes you through the process of making soy wax candles and I was amazed at how much she managed to fit in, in a fairly short period of time. Kerry is very generous in sharing her knowledge and giving lots of hints and tips for candle making success.
The workshop was conducted in a really relaxed but extremely professional manner , the group size was just right and it was lovely to meet up with and have a wee blether with new people over candle wax and home made scones - not at the same time of course!
Great value for money and a fantastic feeling leaving with a beautiful fragranced candle made by ME !
Thank you Kerry.

This Candlemaking workshop is really fun and interesting. Kerry is a delightful host and the atmosphere is friendly and welcoming. I came all the way from London to do this Course and I can't recommend it enough. I always have to buy around thirty gifts at Christmas so by doing this course I will save myself a lot of money as the candles not only smell devine but look very professional.

Had a wonderful morning at Temple on the candle making workshop! Kerry was very knowledgable about soy wax candle making. We learnt so much about technique, the do's and dont's of candle making and even some basic skills about how to burn a candle! Kerry is such a natural at bringing people together, whilst teaching us the basic skills of candle making. Mid morning while waiting for the candles to set we had coffee and homemade scones and got to know the other people at the workshop.
I had a fun morning, a few laughs and brought a candle home and a starter pack to make another one!
I would highly recommend this workshop!
