Had a fantastic day with one-to-one tuition on the course last Saturday. Slim is patient, he needed to be I was very slow! and supportive and I came away with new skills and a beautiful passort holder (for when I can go somewhere!) He even took the time to compile a bespoke 'starter kit' list for me. Slim is easy company and an excellent tutor I would strongly recommend his courses even if it means travelling to Scotland!

This was my first experience of leather craft and I came away with so many invaluable tips.
Slim was excellent at teaching, very patient, polite and courteous. I did not feel rushed or under pressure at any point. It’s excellent value for money.
This course has definitely built my confidence to be able experiment on my own. When I asked, Slim was so kind enough to put time aside to go through what to buy as a basic tool kit in order to get started with leather craft.
I would most definitely recommend this course to anyone new to leather craft or anyone wanting to improve skills.
He also made a great brew!
Thank you again!

Tricia & I were treated to a great day's experience and came away with leather crafted items which will remain treasures for time to come.
We really didn't know what to expect but together with his skills ,tools and knowledge Slim Ross brought out in us a remarkable achievement not to mention his very interesting stories of his life time experiences which made his company during the day very endearing.
So we thank you Ross for having the " Patience of Jobe " with our efforts displayed during the day.
We wish you well and hope you find your chosen new home in the Scotland with your wife and family and if ever we have to opportunity for a further day of learning further skills we won't hesitate to be in touch.

This was an excellent course in leather carving. I had very little previous experience but Slim was a great teacher, providing support, information, tools and equipment so that by the end of the day I had a beautifully carved and framed celtic knot. Hard work but definitely worth it! I’d recommend this course.

Slim allowed us to create a dog collar and lead which was not listed on the items of the typical course. He provided all tools, information and assistance to do so and all in a brilliant manner.

We came away from the course feeling confident in creating such products outside of the course. He also offered to help us should we have any questions after the course.

I can’t recommend this course enough from Slim's knowledge to his hospitality, it’s fantastic!

Response from Ross Leather and Wood:

This was an excellent course! As a beginner Slim gave an informative and very interesting introduction to this craft, the making of a small-change purse put everything into context and made the day really enjoyable. Slim was only too willing to help sort out tangles, knots and all manner of problems, including poor lost souls who got lost in Sheffield, thanks for a great day.

Response from Ross Leather and Wood:

Can’t recommend this course highly enough - such an interesting & fabulous day. Made my gorgeous green spectacle case from scratch (apart from actually breeding the cow that the leather came from & making the leather). Cut the pattern & pieces for decoration, dyed it, made every hole for every stitch, sealed it etc.
A very packed day of superb instruction by Slim & took intense concentration to get it right. Absolutely loved it. I would happily repeat it for the pleasure of creating again ❤️❤️ xxx
** I was going to give it as a present but after all the effort I put in ..... I want to frame it!!! Pardon the pun!

A warm welcome kicked off a great day. I walked in not knowing one end of a cow from another and left inspired to make a set of Louis Vuitton luggage. A very rewarding course covering a lot of hands on stuff. Slim is a brill teacher, no pressure, takes you through everything methodically at your own pace all coaxed along with plenty of tea and biscuits and a beautiful lunch. A very hospitable host.

Thanks again Slim for an extremely enjoyable and productive day.

Brilliant course! We did this as a couple to celebrate our 3rd wedding anniversary (leather!) and had the best time making passport holders for each other.
Slim was a fantastic teacher who provided the perfect level of guidance and support ensuring we had fun and were able to complete the project for ourselves. A wonderful home made lunch was included, along with all refreshments, and we got to spend the latter part of the afternoon stitching next to the fire pit which was really relaxing.
Absolutely in love with our passport holders and the wonderful memories they will hold for us for years to come.
Thank you Slim!

Had high expectations of the course, having seen the quality of Slim's leather work, and they were definitely met. The course was set out really well, with good explanations, and constant support from Slim.
Don't think I could be any happier, I have learnt a new skill and have a wallet that will last a lifetime.
The value is great and the lunch provided was well above standard.
