Lynda reviewed: Beginner's Candle Making Private Workshop - Marlow, Buckinghamshire

"We attended this workshop on a very hot afternoon, so the air conditioning was very much appreciated! We had a great afternoon, it was fun, creative and informative. Sarah paced the workshop just right for everyone there and created a lovely atmosphere among the group attending. It seems we achieved a great deal for just one afternoon, and I came away confident I had the skills to make a start on making candles at home."

"Thank you for your kind comments Lynda, really pleased you enjoyed the workshop and like you say the air con made all the difference!"

Laura reviewed: Silver Clay Jewellery - Beginner - 3 Hours - One to One

"The venue is a lovely small campsite not far from Shrewsbury and was easy to find following the directions that were provided. Upon arrival there was a personalised welcome board signposting us where to park and to the studio. Rachel was very welcoming and patient with us throughout the session. We were able to use our own creativity and Rachel assisted us to make our ideas a reality. All the materials and advice we could need were provided (as well as tea coffee and biscuits) and we were both really surprised at the quality of the pieces we were able to produce. We thoroughly enjoyed the session and would highly recommend to anyone. Thank you Rachel :-)"

Gifted Crafts Company responded:

Kathy and Phili reviewed: Introduction to glass fusion Morning half day taster (beginners)

"We had a fabulous introduction to glass fusion with Sally. She is an amazing teacher, very easy going and made the session so much fun. She showed us lots of techniques which we will certainly sign up for another session ! Sally was very good at guiding us in the right direction explaining what the different glass types would produce after fusion. The half day passed so quickly but we’re looking forward to seeing our finished pieces. We both did 2 stand alone coasters each but there was plenty of opportunity to do other things. We stayed simple until next time ! We would highly recommend this course to anyone wanting to have a go at trying glass fusion."

Craft Workshops responded:

"Thank you Kathy & Phili - it was a really enjoyable session and I am pleased you loved your fused glass light catchers when you collected them :) Look forward to seeing you both again, Sally"

Linda reviewed: Beginners spoon carving

"What an awesome day! Fabulous weather, great setting, and great fellow ‘spoon-makers! I came away with renewed confidence and a ‘not too shabby’ eating spoon. Recommend this course for anyone interested in starting on a spoon carving journey - you will learn everything you need to know about wood, axe work and knife work. Nick’s enthusiasm and encouragement is a tonic and spoon carving is just a little bit infectious, so beware - you’ll be hooked!!!"

"Thank you Linda! If you need any more help or advice on tools, please don’t hesitate to easily me."

oliver piepereit reviewed: Danish Cord Woven Stool Weekend - WITH ASH FRAME OPTION

"Being a furniture maker and restorer I wanted to widen my skill set. What a brilliant course! Myself and 3 others attended the pilot for this workshop which ended up being well thought out and executed. If the pilot can be this good then i'm sure you can book with confidence for the roll out of normal courses. I took photos and notes throughout to make sure I could replicate the process when I get round to making my own frame. Thank you Ollie."

Suzzette Naylor reviewed: Beaded Snowflakes

"I did this course with Wendy, pre covid and although there were four of us, she never got flustered or upset when one of us made a mistake, which was pretty often as we were all newbies. I still have my snow flake and two more (from kits I bought from here) as does my granddaughter. I gave her one for Christmas. Wendy is lovely and knowledgeable, she doesn't 'wing it'; she is well prepared for whatever she is doing and it is a very pleasant way to spend a couple of hours."

Suzzette Naylor reviewed: Macrame - Wall Art

"There was only me as Wendy is only doling small classes or singles at present due to the virus. But I got on really well. I did another macrame with her so had a little bit of a head start but still I'm not very good but Wendy is very patient and watches everything you do and helps to stop making a mistake that will take a long time to undo and redo. I'm so proud of it, and Wendy gave ideas how I could adapt this hanging to be a little different and how to go on and make others. You get all the supplies you need and instructions to take home to try it at home. I love it there. Can't go wrong, either on your own or with up to two friends, you will everything Wendy teaches and there is a lot. Even for me that crafts all the time. There is always something new."

"I attended this class some while ago, and had a great time. Bought some more supplies and went and showed them at church, and at my annual get together with my sisters. (prior to covid) Everyone I showed found it very easy, because thats the way Wendy shows you how to do it. Easily. Good value too because you take home what you make."

"My son Karl (14) and I both had a great day with Matthew. The course was very enjoyable and at a relaxed pace, but we also felt like we learnt a lot, and produced eight pieces of pottery each to boot. Matt demonstrated & talked us through all the stages and techniques in such a good way that we achieved more than we imagined beforehand, and are very proud of the pieces we produced. We are really looking forward to seeing them after they have been fired & glazed. Would definitely recommend to anyone who fancies having a go."
