Hannah Aymes reviewed: Glass fusing with artist Patricia Lee - as seen on BBC1 Home Is Where The Art Is

"This was a work's outing so I wasn’t really looking forward to this event as I cannot do art. However once Patricia had shown me how easy it is to do, I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to do. I’m delighted with my finished glass and show it off at every opportunity!"

"Very informative and enjoyable with close attention to everyone's individual needs. Very hot day and so very hard work but very pleasing (and surprising) to end up with a bowl which just needed final finishing."

Pat Thomas reviewed: One inspiring day of mono printing from nature in artists studio near York

"My two daughters and I were greeted by Emily and a blackboard with a welcoming message. I have been on a lot of Craft Courses, and can only say that Emily's thoughtful preparation, attention to detail and sense of fun were second to none. She is a true professional. As almost complete beginners we were treated to clear instructions and individual help, and swept along in a delightful flow of creativity. We tried out different ways of preparing plates and printing, then all our prints were displayed on a wall. Emily encouraged us not to plan too much, but to experiment and see what happened. An added bonus was eating our picnic lunch in Emily's very beautiful garden."

Maureen Abson reviewed: maltese limestone carving at mount pleasant gardens

"Just back from a fabulous weekend’s workshop with Andrew and amazed what we could achieve in 2 days. The course is very relaxed in terms of how it is run with 1-1 attention when needed and plenty of encouragement along the way. The 12 of us on the course all came with different ideas and all left with something unique. My arms are aching from the hammer and chisel work but it’s a good ache when you know you have achieved something. I made a block of limestone into some hands that capture the sunlight when at the correct angle, it was maybe a bit ambitious for a first timer but Andrew’s encouragement to go for it and teaching new skills as we individually moved to a new tool and new technique was very good. Well worth the time and cost, I’ll be back for more!"

Helen O'Neil reviewed: A Saturday course in making figures- people, elves, fairies or others!

"A lovely venue, nice relaxed group with everything you need to make a great little figure full of character. Lesley is very patient and generous with sharing her knowledge and tools and I immediately felt at home. As a budding potter I asked lots of questions and Lesley was very encouraging. I would highly recommend this course whatever level you are (and the lovely home made lunch was a nice bonus!)"

Hayley Vice reviewed: Full day introduction to glass fusing course.

"In August, my best friend and I were gifted this course for our Christmas present. One thing I can say is it was one of the best gifts I could have asked for. I got to make everlasting memories, create beautiful glass work and enjoy delicious food thanks to Amanda (Pink House Glass)! Amanda made us both feel welcome as soon as she saw us walk towards the studio. With a witty and bubbly personality, and a very patient nature, she helped us see how much fun you can have with glass fusing. Half way through the day I truly thought ‘how could this get any better?’. Then we found out Amanda had made the extremely tasty banquet for lunch. The dishes were heaven on a plate and we weren’t left hungry. If you see this, Amanda, thank you for making us feel so welcome! It was an experience both of us will treasure for a long long time. We hope to be back again and learn more!"

Charles Walker reviewed: Green wood chair making in Suffolk

"I loved this course. Stewart is an excellent teacher and the pace was just right. It really is tremendously satisfying to produce something which is a thing of beauty from the raw material of an ash log. The design of the chair works very well but with Stewart's encouragement personal choices about style can be incorporated so one produces something which really is unique. As other people have said part of the pleasure of the course is the general ambience - a lovely location, first class sourdough bread (another potential course there I think) and great company from Belle and Fin. It was first class - thanks so much."

Sharon Brown reviewed: Beaded flower fairy workshops

"We had a fabulous time, Scarlet is so friendly and helpful. She takes her time and explains and shows what she is doing then assists you. No crafting skills necessary, but if you have them then all the better. The fairies are fabulous, so beautiful, she can make them for any occasion. We laughed and the time flew by, I cannot recommend Scarlet enough. Felt totally comfortable in her company and we thoroughly enjoyed the experience."

Scarlets Fairy Folk responded:

"Thank you so much for your lovely review Sharon, yet another that travelled long distance. It was a lovely day/evening and your fairies were beautiful..x"

Polly Ann Flinders reviewed: Basic to advanced knitting workshops in Leeds City Centre

"I have been knitting for years, but never dared to tackle anything in more than one colour (apart from basic stripes). A two hour session with Ann in the charming surroundings at the tea rooms has given me the confidence to tackle fair isle knitting at last! She's a friendly, calm, and kind teacher - I can thoroughly recommend her one-to-one sessions! Great value!"

Leeds Central Faith and Light responded:

"Thank you Polly Ann for your kind words. I am glad you found your workshop helpful and worthwhile in getting you started on your Fair Isle adventure. Enjoy. Kind regards Ann"

Tina Bellamy reviewed: Pottery throwing workshop Saturdays or Sundays

"Nadia‘s workshop was a delight. When we arrived it was good to know that we were all able to have a throwing wheel each. This meant the whole group could work at the same time and make the most of the course. Nadia and her assistants helped us to achieve throwing and moulding by way of their skills and experience and helpful manner. Nadia has a huge knowledge of clay, throwing and firing and was very helpful, super friendly and enthusiastic. She encouraged us to have a go, not be afraid of the clay, to have a go and enjoy ourselves. Coffee and delicious brownies at break are scummy."

Sarah reviewed: Hand Bound Leather Journal Workshop

"Wendy and Clive are highly skilled leather workers in their own right and their enthusiasm for the craft is infectious. This was my third workshop with them. We started by discussing possible designs, after which we set to, tearing beautiful water colour paper to our chosen size. Then Wendy taught us how to join the pages into a journal, using traditional bookbinding techniques. After lunch it was time to plan, cut and dye the leather covers before final assembly. Each stage was explained clearly and we made steady progress. I was delighted to end the day with not one but two beautiful handmade leather journals, one with stitched pages and the other loose leafed. This was a very affordable one-to-one course, arranged at a time to suit me. If you are looking for enthusiastic and skilful tutors who will show you how to make very professional looking leather journals, this is the course for you. Thoroughly recommended.."
