Half day potters wheel & clay hand building at The Crafty Potter, Heskin

Whether you have always wanted a go at pottery or just something fun to do, come and Join us for this fabulous Half Day Pottery Experience at our pottery studio In the beautiful village of Heskin, Lancashire.

We are open everyday except Mondays and classes are taught in small groups of 1-4 unless you come as part of a larger group.

You will be shown the steps and guided through the session by Sharon an experienced sculptor & clay artist.

The session starts by having some fun throwing pots on the potters wheel, your first pot is made with help, tips and advice along the way, you then have time to have a go by yourself.

This is followed by some traditional hand building, using the coiling or slab methods of construction. You can make something functional or decorative during this time. Mugs, vases, lidded pots, utensil pots, pet dishes are just some of the items our visitors have made.

You will be shown how to assemble your item in clay before being left to get creative. We have loads of ideas in the studio to help you decide what to make & you can have as much or as little help as you wish.

You will be able to take your pieces home to air dry on the day.

The Crafty Potter studio is based within Heskin shopping Village, a unique retail and leisure destination featuring over 40 unique shops and businesses, With free parking we’re a perfect destination for you to make a great fun day out.

The class makes a fabulous gift for all occasions.

To keep our studio safe we continue to have sanitisers & reduced numbers, alongside Deep cleaning and disinfecting. Group bookings are for a maximum of 8 persons. You will need to wear a face mask for the wheel throwing part of this class.

Had a great time pottering at the Crafty Potter with Sharon. 1:1 tuition for me which was much needed! Great way to spend a few hours and Heskin Hall is worth the visit.

Response from The Crafty potter:

Thank you Esther, it was great meeting you, you did a fab job x
