Potters wheel & clay hand building at The Crafty Potter Heskin

Whether you have always wanted a go at pottery or just something fun to do, come and Join us for this fabulous Pottery Experience at our pottery studio In Heskin, Chorley.

We are open everyday except Mondays.

You will be shown the steps and guided through the session by Sharon an experienced sculptor & online ceramic instructor for Clayshare.

The session starts by having some fun throwing pots on the potters wheel, your first pot is made with help, tips and advice along the way, you then have time to have a go by yourself.

This is followed by some traditional hand building, using the coiling method of construction. You can make something functional or decorative during this time. Mugs, vases, lidded pots ,utensil pots, pet dishes are just some of the items our visitors have made.

You will be shown how to assemble your item in clay before being left to get creative. We have loads of ideas in the studio to help you decide what to make & you can have as much or as little help as you wish.

You will be able to take your pieces home to air dry on the day.

All our classes are taught 1:1 unless you attend as a couple or part of a group.

Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 2 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.

What's included in the price?

All tuition and materials needed are included.

Optional Extra: Leave your pots with us to fire in the kiln & return to the studio to glaze them 2-3 weeks later (£3.50 per item).
