Hello, I'm sharon, an experienced ceramic sculpture & clay artist, and I regularly host fun & informal pottery sessions from my Pottery studio in the beautiful village of Heskin, Lancashire.
The class runs everyday except Sunday & Mondays, and can be attended by those 14yrs+ with attending adults.
Class Times: 10-12pm or 1.30-3.30pm
In this Potters wheel & Decoration class you will have fun experiencing throwing pots on a potters wheel, with extra time & some more clay to add surface decoration to your creations.
You start with a ball of clay and are guided through the basic steps to make a pot. Once you have done your first pot with assistance, you then get a second ball of clay and some practice time to have some fun by yourself. Help is on hand throughout the session.
You can then decorate your thrown pots, you may want to add handles to make a cup or jug, or you may wish to change & alter the shape of your pots. We have lots of cutters & stamps in the studio that can be used to make your pot personal & unique.
After the session you can take home your creations to air dry & paint with acrylics or you may have them fired for £3 per pot. You then have the option of returning to glaze them 3 weeks later at a cost of £15pp.
The Crafty Potter studio is based within Heskin shopping Village, a unique retail and leisure destination featuring over 40 unique shops and businesses, With free parking we’re a perfect destination for you to make a great fun day out.
The class makes a fabulous gift for all occasions.

Had a lovely time during my session. Sharon was very encouraging and patient with me whilst teaching me the techniques of throwing. A really nice environment to be in too!
