About the Course
This is a one day workshop designed for those with some or little experience of working in oils or acrylic. The price includes materials (a small charge is made for a canvas to paint on, if required, for your final painting) so it's a great way to experiment without investing in expensive materials.
'Lynn put together a really useful workshop, with the basics covered very quickly and getting into a painting. Good value for money, patient tuition and great for beginners.'
'I found the workshop so helpful as I came to the class as a complete beginner with no experience and came home with a complete piece of work which I am going to frame. I now feel that I have the confidence to have a go at further paintings at home. So well done Lynn.'
The workshop is in my studio in an old Silk Mill in Frome 10.30-4.30 with a break for lunch (lunch is not included.
In the morning we will learn techniques to get you started and ways to loosen your style, understand the paint and how to mix colour and discover the materials and tools that you need.
In the afternoon we will paint a picture of your choice, landscape, still life or abstract using what we learned from the morning's session.
The course is based in my studio in an old Silk Mill in the ancient market town of Frome, in Somerset. Places are limited to three which means you get plenty of tuition when needed.
Please bring an apron or wear clothes suitable for an art studio. You may wish to bring a plastic bag in which to take wet work home.
Participants must be 18 or over.

Lynn demonstrated all the techniques clearly, provided the materials needed and gave guidance on what materials I will need moving forward. I very much enjoyed the day and it gave me the confidence to pursue the subject further.

Response from Lynn Keddie Art:Thank you for your review, Louise. I'm glad you found the course useful. You worked hard and produced some really lovely work. And you painted a very calming work by the end of the day so relaxing as well as informative!
I thoroughly enjoyed Lynn's workshop - well put together, with the basics covered very quickly from what to paint on, what to paint with, how to mix colour. Good value for money, patient tuition and great for beginners too. Would definitely recommend this course. Lynn was very good at putting people at ease and encouraging you to explore your own style and not be afraid to really get stuck in.
