Marvellous Mosaic one day workshop

X

Description

The mosaic workshop takes place at English Bridge Workshop just two minutes away from my studio, set within the historic town of Shrewsbury. The workshop is led by Lindsey, who has worked in 3 and 2D design, along with many years experience of teaching art, design and mosaics. During this one-day workshop you will learn how to apply a range of tiles using the direct method onto an MDF base. There will be a large collection of tile material to choose from but please feel free to bring material from home that you would like to include. You will learn how to create colourful designs, use tile nippers safely, and grout your finished piece. There is a choice of bases from hearts, coasters or a square panel. The maximum group size is ten people and the workshop is for adults. The day starts at 10.00am and finishes at 4.00pm, so please try to get to the workshop by 9.45am for a prompt start. The aim is to explore this fascinating craft in a relaxed and friendly environment.

What's included in the price?

Tea and coffee (and biscuits of course), are all provided, but do let me know of any allergies or preferences. Just bring your own packed lunch, although there are some great local cafés close by catering for all tastes. Bring an apron or wear clothes you don't mind getting grout on, as mosaic making is a bit messy! Please wear covered shoes as we are working with glass. The nearest carpark is just a few minutes walk away at Abbey Foregate. There is no parking at the studio. We do not have toilets for disabled workshop attendees at the moment.
