Description
Urban Sketchers is a global community of artists that practice drawing on location in cities, towns and villages they live in or travel to. If you would like to capture your surroundings and daily life, whether urban or rural, this fun day will furnish you with plenty of ideas and skills. Timed to coincide with (hopefully) better weather, we will use the beautiful buildings at Micklems Farm or in Knowl Hill as our muse. Using pen and wash, we will look at composition, working on location, what to put in and what to leave out. If the weather is inclement, don't worry, we will still be able to find lots of inspiration! Urban sketching does not have to be outside - it can be your lunch, your sitting room, your cup of coffee. We'll also explore holiday and travel sketching and maybe touch on journaling. If you are looking at this class you might also be interested in the Line and wash day (19 April or 19 September). Please bring a light weight folding stool or chair if you have one, to make your day a little more comfortable.
