CALLIGRAPHY COURSE for Beginners in Bournville Birmingham

X

Description

Traditional calligraphy course. Learn the timeless art of beautiful writing over consecutive Monday classes. This booking is for the first SIX classes. This is a comprehensive course in traditional calligraphy, not a one-off workshop in modern or brush calligraphy. Yet, I still occasionally have students arrive expecting something different—so please read carefully before enrolling. In this course, you’ll learn how to write with a broad nib, an essential tool for creating elegant, classical letterforms. You'll gain the skills to personalise greeting cards, create beautifully presented family trees, or write out your favourite poems with style and precision. Beginners will start with foundation hand—the elegant and versatile script shown in the image above. It’s a traditional style that’s ideal for beginners but requires commitment and regular attendance. 👉 You must be able to attend every week for at least the first SIX lessons. Please note: this course does not include brush calligraphy, faux calligraphy, or handwriting instruction. 📅 Classes are held on Monday afternoons, 12:30–14:30, at the St Francis Youth and Community Centre, Bournville Village Green. The cost is £10 per lesson, this booking is for the first 6 classes. Please get in touch via the 'message the tutor' button, before booking, to discuss. 📆 The course runs in line with the academic year.
