Josie Aldridge reviewed: Stonecarving Weekend, Gloucestershire Cotswolds

"I thoroughly enjoyed my 2 day stone carving course with Sebastian. The location was wonderful and Sebastian gave us lots of encouragement to allow ourselves to think freely and create something unique. As is usual with me, I got disheartened on the first day, when I just couldn’t seem to get the shaping needed, but Sebastian very patiently guided me along, and the result is a stone cat which I’m very pleased with. I’d definitely recommend this course to anybody who wants to try their hand at stone carving- having two days to work on your creation means less pressure to finish. I’m glad I went with an idea in mind of what I wanted to make- I’m not sure I could’ve just thought of something on the day."

Nicholas Palmer reviewed: Lucy Churchill's Stone Carving Workshops

"I have attended Lucy's workshops on more than one occasion. If you wish to learn from a true master stone mason, Lucy is the perfect tutor, she has time to help you explore your ideas, initiate and learn the techniques required to complete them. It has been an extraordinary journey of discovery and who knew that I would take so much pleasure in revealing my creations that lie within a block of stone?? I would highly recommend her courses, you will be well looked after."

Teresa Hardiman reviewed: Hare Sculpture workshop with Jo Garden Art in beautiful Norfolk/Suffolk

"Had the most beautiful day making hares with Jo, she had the day planned perfectly. My sister has never made or even be able to draw stick men. With Jo's fabulous help and guidance she made a wonderful hare, she was totally shocked that she could create something so arty. Such a well organised day in an amazing art room, set in even more amazing beautiful and tranquil setting. Highly recommended."

Jo Garden Art responded:

"Thank you Teresa ;-) And thank you for being brave enough to try the new patinated copper finish! Are the blue & greens still developing?! The finish looked amazing - I popped that short video on to my Facebook page if you take a peep (thank you for letting me do that). Would love to see you back here one day, Jo xx"

Deborah O'Brien reviewed: Hare Sculpture workshop with Jo Garden Art in beautiful Norfolk/Suffolk

"I booked for myself and my two sisters to do this course and I couldn't have had a better time, we all came away with beautiful Hare sculptures. Jo made the entire process fun and easy and we all came away with new skills to have a go at home or we may come back and have a go at a bigger sculpture, Jo showed us photos some of her other students had made and they were awesome. I purchased one of the bigger hare kits, it has lots in it and I cant wait to have a go. The studio setting is fabulous and a walk around the large garden was worth the visit alone with lots of sculptures to see. It was a really fun day too. I highly recommend this course, thank you Jo we had a wonderful day and came home with sculptures we are all proud of."

Jo Garden Art responded:

"What a fabulous review - thank you Deborah ;-) I really enjoyed having you all in the studio together and seeing your various styles of hare sculptures develop throughout the day. Having a thunderstorm in the background whilst we made armatures together was a first for me! You managed to walk the paths cut through the grass just in time ;-) Would love to have you back for a two day workshop making a bigger sculpture! Enjoy the large hare kit. Jo x"

Andrea Fellman reviewed: Silver Jewellery Day Workshop at Studio Budgie Galore, Sheffield

"Most enjoyable day learning how to make a silver ring. Daisy explained everything so very clearly and helped every step of the way, if we needed it. There was plenty of tea and cake and the group were wonderful too. The only thing that I would suggest is to look at some simple ideas so that you know what you might like to try to make! We all came away with a ring that we were very proud to wear. Thank you."

Janice reviewed: Five day woodwork course - tools

"Just spent an amazing week on Course 1 and have returned home with a piece of furniture I am really proud of. The tutors were really helpful and supportive, with well planned lessons and projects to start our wood craft journey. Our group of four were all beginners but I have no doubt there was flexibility to cater for a mixed group with everyone sure to learn new tips and tricks from the very talented and enthusiastic craftsmen. Course 2 booked!"

Simon Gosling reviewed: Woodturning tuition in Wiltshire

"I bought a lathe during lock down and had taught myself using youtube and lots of practice. A day with Andy revolutionised my lathe experience. I had learnt more in the first two hours than in all my efforts over the previous 6 months. Andy is knowledgeable, patient and a great person to spend time with. I will be going back once I have had chance to finish practicing the things he has already taught me. Learning to sharpen tools was an unexpected part of the course, but possibly the most important - made a huge difference to me."

Andys woodworking responded:

"Thanks for your kind comments Simon I enjoyed our time in the workshop and I’m looking forward to you coming back"

"Returning for a third time, I found the weekend as inspiring and challenging as on my previous courses. Lucy provides encouragement and guidance, as well as thought provoking conversation and home baked cake (baked by a neighbour). I find the whole experience very therapeutic, especially as it is so different from the 'day job'. I am already thinking about what I might do on my 4th visit!"
