Andy Richards reviewed: Pottery throwing sessions on the potter's wheel in Norfolk

"What a fantastic experience! My partner and I did a taster session for her birthday recently and we had such a great time. Pat was brilliant throughout, very easy going and chatty, she guided us through every step of the process and made us feel really confident. A perfect spot for pot throwing and a lovely walk afterwards with tea and cakes by the water's edge. If we didn't live in Cumbria we'd be back again soon it will definitely be booking again as an excuse for another holiday to Norfolk. Couldn't recommend Pat highly enough."

Pat Southwood responded:

"Delighted you both enjoyed yourselves, you made some great pots - thank you for your kind words."

Linda & Peter Bates reviewed: Two day dry stone walling course for beginners in association with Dry Stone Walling Association of Great Britain

"My wife and I joined the DSWA Course at Well-i-Hole Farm, Greenfield on 17 & 18/7/21 and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves - although exhausted at the end! The course was excellently organised and there were plenty of friendly and helpful experts - qualified trainers and other, equally enthusiastic, members of the Association, who came along for the love of creating what turned out to be, a "work of art", replacing a wall that had lasted possibly 200 years until finally failing to the ravages of time [or more likely, tourists!], with a new, beautiful wall from the original stones, which will - hopefully - last a further 200 years. Let us know if it doesn't!! If you would like to leave your mark [nicely!] on our wonderful countryside then try one of these excellent courses - we thoroughly recommend them!"

Dry Stone Walling Association Lancashire Branch responded:

"Peter & Linda It was a delight to be in your company for the two days of the course, being on the campsite was a godsend, with it being so hot, and you were able to build the wall in your own time at your own pace. the Farmer / Owner was delighted with the result, we shall be returning later in the year to carry out more repairs and hopefully next year we can attract more like minded campers that want to do something different whilst on a Caravanning break, in the unspoilt landscape of Saddleworth. keep in touch Paul Chairman of DSWA Trustee board"

Thomas Petit reviewed: The First Cut - lino cutting for beginners & rusty printmakers in Derbyshire

"I was a total beginner . We tried out the tools and linos to see how they worked , you could really feel when you went too deep. I chose a fish design and Liz suggested all sorts of interesting ideas, I would never have. It was a great and informative class and I can’t wait to try some more! Once I’ve moved house I’m buying a kit. It was a lovely atmosphere and the people I did the class with were so enthusiastic . Despite all the Covid restrictions , we still had a great time and it was fascinating to see each other’s very different ideas and prints. Can’t recommend the course enough. Brilliant! I’ve recommended it to friends."

Liz Wellby - Artist, Teacher & Maker responded:

"Hi Tom, It was lovely and good fun to have you here at The Slipper Studio and thank you for taking the time to review your day. Great to see your latest glass barens and that you had the chance to put them through their paces. Hope your move goes smoothly and you have the time to pick up a cutter in the near future. Best wishes Liz"

Kathryn Salmond reviewed: Introduction to Lino Printing in Cambridgeshire

"I had not done any Lino printing since secondary school and so was really excited to learn about it again and have a go. Judith made the whole process so enjoyable; she guided me through each step of the process and was so friendly and kind. The art/craft space was also incredibly beautiful and well organized. The whole experience was fun, engaging and rather therapeutic! I now have some beautiful prints to display (and book recommendations to read!). I would definitely recommend this to anyone wanting to give Lino printing a go! Thank you so much Judith!"

Geoff reviewed: Basic automata and mechanical toy making

"Thanks Stef for a brilliant day. I was a bit dubious at the start whether I would be able to complete the Frustrated Fisherman as there were numerous intricate parts to cut out, clean up and paint before assembling the automaton. Stef was very patient and meticulous in making sure that I had copied everything exactly as per his written drawings and instructions. He is a very cheerful and attentive tutor and I thoroughly enjoyed my day out. Thanks to Stef, he made the final inking-in outlining the expression on the Fishermans face and changing my painting into a real work of art. It all works perfectly and I will proudly show the Grand- Children when they next visit."

Penlan Crafts responded:

"Dear Geoff, thank you very much for your kind review! Your positive comments are even more important since they are coming from an expert woodmaker like you... thank you again and I'm sure your grandchildren will love "The Unlucky Fisherman"!"

Maria Cole reviewed: One day stained glass workshop London for beginners and enthusiasts

"Tejal is an excellent instructor and really believes in what she is doing. My niece bought this one day course for me as a present because I absolutely love stained glass (mainly medieval stained glass in our gothic cathedrals). To be honest, I was not convinced I would enjoy it because I have no artistic abilities myself and I thought I would make a hash of it. But I didn't! Under Tejal's patient guidance, I produced a star which is now hanging in my garden and looks very attractive. I will enjoy looking at it. Thank you Tejal and good luck with your own designs."

GlassSeasons responded:

"Thanks Maria, really appreciate your kind words:)"

"Warning this craft is addictive ? I cannot praise SmARTsy sessions enough. Ali has the teaching skills to ensure everyone creates their very personal piece of fused glass. I am running out of windowsills, I have now been creating pieces for my garden. This is my ‘happy’ place, I have met some lovely people and having been very poorly, feel that my sessions have undoubtedly helped my wellbeing."

Chris reviewed: Hare Sculpture workshop with Jo Garden Art in beautiful Norfolk/Suffolk

"Jo is a marvellous tutor. She guided us through the different stages and it was fantastic to see the hare sculpture emerge. Each one of our group created a different hare which reflected our personalities. I really enjoyed the day and hope to go back again."

Jo Garden Art responded:

"Thank you Chris ;-) I love watching the evolvement of the hares at each stage. I understand that when the class first look at their own wire hare armature, it seems impossible to imagine what the final outcome will be! And you are right - the hares do reflect personalities - I really enjoy seeing the outcomes ;-) Jo x"
