Description

In this taster workshop, you will create a pendant or pair of earrings from hallmark-quality silver with jeweller Anna Campbell.  You will learn how to make jewellery out of a material called silver clay, which is made up of recycled silver particles, an organic binder and water. Silver clay requires with very little equipment so it's perfect for those wanting to learn a new skill they can easily do at home. You will be taken through all the steps to create your own piece ready for firing. The dried clay is fired with a butane torch to form it into silver (but a crème brulée torch will do the trick!). You’ll then polish your silver jewellery ready to take home. This taster class is perfect for giving you an idea of the possibilities of this unique material. You can then choose to move on to a full-day workshop where you will make 3 different pieces (these dates are also included), or to one of our more advanced jewellery making workshops if you wish. Spaces on our workshops are limited to allow artists to offer one-to-one help and support. All The Arienas Collective workshop experiences are also available as a private group booking. Please contact us for details. *Please note that the times for this workshop vary, and may either be morning or afternoon session. We will confirm this when your booking is accepted. If you can only make one option, please let us know when booking. *The Arienas Collective workshops are run from the first-floor of a listed Georgian home, and unfortunately we do not have lift access.

What's included in the price?

The Arienas Collective supports local artists and makers to earn a living by sharing their creative skills and passions with others through delivering workshops. The workshops are run from our mews home in the beautiful Georgian New Town of central Edinburgh. We believe in the wellbeing benefits of engaging in creative activity, and our class sizes are kept small so that you get the support you need to make the most of your time with us.
