Excellent day with Ted.

There was some work to do on the guitar kit supplied that was even ok for a DIY amateur like myself. Expertly guided by Ted throughout with tea, friendly chat between advice and knowledge regarding both the building and construction of guitars. At the end of the day I am sure Ted made my guitar sound far better then I ever will with my limited abilities.

I would recommend this course without hesitation for anyone remotely interested in guitars and guitar construction.

Response from Teds Woodworking/ instrument making Courses:

Thank you Andy. It was good to work with you on this build; some go together quite nicely indeed. Hope it gives you many hours of pleasure and a basic idea of the principles of a guitar's construction.
If you want to build a 3-string Strumstick in the future you know where to come my friend.

Kind regards Ted

I had the most enjoyable day with Ted constructing a Telecaster Thinline which he especially ordered in for me. He explained every part of the construction stage by stage allowing me to do everything hands on line creating, cutting and sanding the headstock using the machinery, soldering the electrics and then setting up the guitar. Full attention to detail was offered including fret filing and getting the intonation correct. I learnt so much and as a keen guitarist it was great to be able to create my own to add to my collection. I have a bit of homework to do now as I want to reduce the chunky neck and apply a finish but Ted pointed me in the right direction giving me some great tips. Ted is such a great person and teacher. He made me feel very comfortable and though I am a novice when it comes to this sort of thing I actually felt very confident. I can’t recommend this course enough.

Response from Teds Woodworking/ instrument making Courses:

Thanks Richard you certainly did enjoy the day indeed, glad to be of help too! the telecaster thin line was a nice build and I hope it makes a decent sound when you plug her in at home. Remember those strings do need changing my friend. Take good care and hope to see you and Alison on a bandsaw box course very soon.

Kind regards Ted

Great fun and really interesting. Ted has a great knowledge of guitars and is full of tips and advice for newbies like me and lots of stories from when he was in bands.
Also, if he suggests getting a pie from the local pie shop, you say yes! Yum
All in all well worth the two and a half hour drive. Might go back for a strumstick!
Thanks Ted

Response from Teds Woodworking/ instrument making Courses:

Thanks Joel

I look forward to seeing you and well done on the build my friend.

Ps The wammy bar is in the post and thank the wife too!

kind regards Ted

James Inglis - - #34242

We had a thoroughly enjoyable day with Ted. He is a highly personable tutor with great skill, knowledge and patience. I am now looking forward to stripping the guitar back to component form and adding a colourful design finish to the woodwork, comfortable in the knowledge that I can rebuild it without too much trouble.
Highly recommended!

Response from Teds Woodworking/ instrument making Courses:

James asked lots of questions about the technical issues involved in guitar building and he was able to do most of the work himself. Well done James I hope you can come back soon for another woodworking course. Thanks again and kind regards Ted.

Great course. Very interesting to see guitar being put together stage by stage. Ted explained everything clearly and paid great attention to detail. I found the day very enjoyable and can recommend the course to anyone who has an interest in electric guitars. Ted is also an excellent player and shows you what can be achieved on your creation. He is also an all round good bloke!

Response from Teds Woodworking/ instrument making Courses:
