Papermaking - Handmade Recycled Paper Workshop

About the Course
Give your old bills, junk mail and other unwanted papers a new lease of life, and turn them into brand new, beautiful papers to use in other craft projects, or just to show off as works of art! This class will show you the basics to get started with papermaking at home using traditional western techniques. You'll make your own mould and deckle (which you can take home to use again), and make approximately 3 or 4 pieces of handmade paper with inclusions such as dried flowers, leaves, glitter and more! Enjoy a relaxed and friendly atmosphere and a cup of tea (and biscuits, of course!).
Suitable for complete beginners, you will be guided through every step by Wendy, owner of The Little Craftery, and life-long crafter.
The workshop runs for approximately 2 hours. Enjoy a chat with like minded people and learn some new skills!
If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above or telephone us. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
What's included in the price?
All materials are included in the price, and plentiful tea and snacks!
I attended a paper making workshop with Wendy. She's a great teacher, everything was ready for us and we followed the process step by step with Wendy's encouragement. We enjoyed tea and refreshments whilst discovering the techniques of paper making. We each went home with a mould and deckle and the skills to make paper at home. Can't wait to get started. Highly recommended.

I loved this course! In the space of 2 hours I learnt enough to go home with 4 sheets of my own paper and the inspiration to start shredding and pulping more junk mail at home for future projects. I've already ordered a creative paper making book and lino roller so watch this space!

I thought this was an excellent course and well run. Wendy is engaging and informative without sounding 'preachy' and obviously has a love for her chosen profession. The verbal instructions were clear and well thought out and the addition of a printed instruction worksheet following the course was an added bonus. The fact that all the materials used can be supplied in your average home without the expense of having to buy specialist tools to carry on (and that we could take the mould home with us ) was very welcome. This is my second course at The Little Craftery and would not hesitate to book again and recommend others do likewise.

A really good and informative course. Well taught and easy to understand. I loved that it was messy and we were given equipment to take away to continue paper making at home.
