Wheel Throwing Sessions For Accompanied Children

X

Description

We look forward to welcoming you to Woodsetton Art Pottery established 1986. PLEASE NOTE; BEFORE YOU BOOK and pay your fee to Craft Courses, please click the “MESSAGE THE TUTOR ” to see if your required date is available for the number in your party to prevent double bookings. (Please forgive us if there is a short delay before we answer, as you are not contacting us directly here and it is forwarded to the potters who may be up to their ears in clay!) We can accommodate anything from exclusive sessions for single people up to twelve in the summer months within prevailing Covid guidance. We are delighted to say that our covid safety protocols have been reviewed and accepted by our local trading standards health and safety department. If you prefer to have full details (too long to include here) including our Covid Protocols and booking details please select 'contact the maker' for your reassurance. TASTER WORKSHOPS Allow up to 2 hours for your visit. A fun hour to throw at the wheel taught by a fully post graduate trained teacher and thrower of 30 years in Woodsetton in the West Midlands. Our Victorian workshops have six wheels spaced in four rooms each with its own access from outdoors to achieve safe social distancing for individuals, household groups and bubbles. A fun hour of throwing and you can take your favourite 3 pots home with you free of charge on the day, along with instructions on how to preserve and paint your pot or have a go at “pit firing” it at home. Or you can opt to have any or all of your pots fired in our potters kilns to make it useable, dishwasher, microwave and oven proof. This is a lengthy process of expertly finishing, drying, turning, bisque firing, glazing and then further firing your creation, so a charge of £8 per pot is made for this service and you’ll collect your pot that will then last forever about two to four weeks later (depending on season) Also take time to visit our gallery and pottery materials shop if you’d like to pursue this ancient craft further. Children must be accompanied by a full paying adult (this listing is elsewhere on the craft courses website.) Maximum booking is 6 adults/children on 6 separate wheels. Minimum booking is two children or a child and full paying adult. (We regret that due to keeping good distances between visitors we don’t have room at the moment for non participant viewers.)
