Course Start DatesMonday 17th February 2020
About the Course
This course is designed for those who would just like to try their hand at throwing or alternatively have had some previous experience perhaps having attended the day course here at Potterydayz. It is also designed with small groups in mind, with the emphasis on as much 1 to 1 tuition as possible and achieving successful and satisfying results. Interestingly, during this 3 hour course our novice, student potters produce some stunning results (see gallery).
Individuals are very welcome to book for themselves or friends in advance and there are larger reductions for booking in pairs, threes and fours, for example, for 2 people £70 each, for 3 people £65 each and for 4 people £60 each.
Four people can be accommodated at the same time.
These sessions make great birthday treats, anniversary surprises, Christmas presents or just a great experience. Sessions can be booked A.M or P.M
Please note I am not a 'hobby' potter but a professional.
If booking with a CraftCourses voucher for part or all of the course fee, please fill in the contact form above. Your voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
What's included in the price?
Included in the course price is tea, coffee on arrival, the clay, firing and glazing of your best pieces of work.
Also included is a great deal of learning and experienced gained during your time (3 hours) here as the classes are deliberately kept small. Our potters find that 3 hours gives them the opportunity to really make some headway in their learning of the pottery skills.
Our family bought us vouchers for a half day of pottery. Was extremely pleased with the experience. Richard is very knowledgable and the fact it was just us and him meant we learnt a lot. Looking forwards to painting them once dry. Thank you again Richard.

Absolutely fantastic full day event for 3 - Mum, Dad and 10 year old. Richard was fabulous and throwing pots using the wheel was excellent. Really good value for money and super fun

A thoroughly enjoyable experience which was enhanced with the very attentive, patient and amusing host Richard. Sharing the afternoon with my 13 year old granddaughter was obviously very special but we had such a great time and found the pottery wheel quite addictive. We are both looking forward to glazing our efforts. Thank you.

As a total newbie to pottery I was a little worried about not being able to do anything and coming away disappointed. I couldn’t have been more wrong and my worries were unfounded.
Richard was kind, patient and a brilliant teacher.
I had an absolute blast and can’t wait to see how my items turned out!
It doesn’t matter if you’re a novice or if you’re a worrier, Richard was great throughout the whole session!

I booked a Pottery afternoon for a team of colleagues as a celebration for completing a project. The afternoon was great fun and suitable for all the team. Richard was very accommodating with us all and very enthusiastic and informative teaching us the basics of throwing and hand building. We all learnt a great deal from the session and were all able to make something to take away with us. Would recommend as a great fun team activity!

The session was booked as a surprise for my wife's birthday, something we could both do together. The experience exceed my expectations.
Richard was very knowledgeable and a good teacher plus a nice chap into the bargain. All of which meant we really enjoyed the afternoon.

I thoroughly enjoyed my throwing session with Richard. His instructions were very clear and as an expert thrower he could correct my technique on the spot. Highly recommended
