Hello, I'm Sharon, an experienced Sculpture & clay artist, I regularly host fun and informal pottery sessions from my studio in the beautiful village in Heskin, Lancashire.
This fabulous fun filled day explores lots of elements of pottery making and can be attended by those 14 years plus with an attending adult.
You will experience throwing pots on the potters wheel. You will be shown and guided on how to make your first pot, then given time to practice by yourself. Help & assistance is on hand at all times. We then move over to the work tables to create either a functional or decorative item using the coil method of hand building.
Once you have chosen an item to make from our many ideas in the studio, you will then be shown, step by step how to make it in clay. You will learn how to shape, blend & attach the clay together to form your masterpiece.
Once you have made your creations we stop for lunch (40 minutes) You can bring a packed lunch with you, or purchase lunch from any one of the various food outlets within the centre.
In the afternoon we relax with some pottery painting, its a lovely way to bring the day to an end.
Sessions run everyday except Mondays & Sundays.
Bisque firing of your creations is included and will be ready for collection 3 weeks later. They can then be painted at home with acrylics OR You may wish to return to the studio to glaze your creations, this is an optional extra at a cost of £15pp.

A very enjoyable day. Sharon and Hannah were friendly and encouraging in their approach. By the end of the day I was happy with what I had achieved, producing a bowl on the potters wheel, a hand created plant holder and hand painted plate. I look forward to returning once these have been fired to paint the bowl and plant holder
