Fused glass - Introduction to modelling glass

X

Description

In this class you will learn about the versatile medium - modelling glass. Modelling glass is made from powdered glass to make a medium similar to polymer clay. It can then be used to make shapes and embossed designs that are not possible to cut from glass. Modelling glass pieces can be used alone or as elements in other fused glass pieces. In this class you can make a wall hanging or similar item that uses both modelling glass and regular fusing glass. Note: if you decide to make a piece that can be incorporated with regular art glass, you can book a class later in the year to do this. The date for this will be agreed during the class. I am teaching a variety of classes that are suitable for beginners and those with some experience. In a 2-hour session you will learn new skills and create attractive unique items that you will be able to collect once they have been fired. You will learn how to cut glass and combine different elements and embellishments. Whilst I have detailed a theme for each class, they can be customised. So, if you have a particular item you want to create, favourite colours you want to use, or a particular style, these can be accommodated. Following the class your item will need to be fired in my kiln and will then require collection.
