Beginners fused glass workshop in Faversham

Description

This full day group workshop is ideal for anyone wanting to try glass fusing in a relaxed, flexible group setting. You can come along by yourself, with friend(s) or family member(s). The day provides you with a chance to explore, challenge yourself or simply play. Whatever suits you best. Attendees often make coasters, decorative panels, jewellery or hanging items. How much you make depends on your speed & the techniques you use. As a rough guide, 3-4 coasters (or equivalent) are the norm for beginners. As the tutor, I provide many different forms of support including technical and artistic guidance (if asked) and ideas - whatever you need from me. I'm passionate about glass fusing and love to meet anyone with an interest in the artform. I aim to ensure my workshops provide friendly and supportive environments for all students. Everyone is welcome from ages 16+, provided you are able to work relatively independently and have reasonable dexterity. For children below 16, they are welcome to attend at the discretion of the tutor and must be accompanied by an adult. Disabled students are very welcome. The classroom has disabled access (although toilets and cafe require being push up a steep slope or walking up stairs). Blue badge parking is available on request. If you wish to discuss your specific requirements with me I'd be very happy to speak to you and will do my best to provide you with the support you need for your day. Healthy & Safety Please note this is a face-to-face workshop. As I have an underlying health condition, I ask that students not attend if they have covid or flu. A full refund or rebooking will be available if this happens. I will be wearing a mask, unless you require me to be maskless to accommodate a hearing impairment. What's included in the price?

All basic materials and equipment are provided in the cost of the workshop. Tea/coffee/soft drinks will be provided. Lunch is not included in the cost but Creek Creative Studios has an award winning cafe and is also based in the town centre so you will have plenty of options for food. In addition, you can purchase specialist dichroic glass if you want to use it.
