A day of glass fusing with Chan Foy

Description

Join us on a day of fusing, where Chan will work alongside you to develop your skills so that you can make a large fused glass panel, and a number of smaller items. You have the option to make a bowl and to slump your panel. These can be used for decorating your home, for framing or for making a splashback for your kitchen or bathroom or used in any which way you like (panel size is 25x25 cm's, for larger pieces please contact me in advance to discuss via 'Message the tutor,' thanks). FUSE studio is set in our lovely garden and we work with small groups to allow for 1:1 tuition and support. Beginners and improvers are welcome. Please bring your own lunch and I will provide refreshments throughout the day. What we cover on the day: - We begin with a safety briefing which is followed by a discussion about what you are hoping to achieve on the day - A demo on how to cut glass, how to layer your work, how to include metals and bubbles, how to use frit and stringers. - Using, transparent, opaque, streaky, iridescent and reactive glass. - How to create shape and form in your piece using relief techniques. After the class your work is fired in our kiln and returned to you: an arrangement for this to happen will be made during the day, this includes the posting of any work if you have travelled from afar.
