"This was a present for my partner. He came back full of enthusiasm having had a great day learning from Julian. He felt he had spent loads of time doing hands on welding. Julian was really interested in why he wanted to learn to weld and made sure he taught the course appropriately for that. Highly recommend."

"My daughter and I had a brilliant day with Emma. We learnt how to cut the glass, how to prepare it for the work and how to solder it together. We both made beautiful mirrors to take home. I found the whole process fascinating and very relaxing. I will definitely keep practicing at home. I highly recommend the workshop if you want to try something new and different. Emma is a great tutor and the day just passed by so quickly"

Sue Renn reviewed: Enamelling taster

"I had a great time on this course. I learned a lot and came away with three enamelled items that I’m very pleased with. The course was friendly and well-organised. Genevieve demonstrated a number of techniques and made suggestions for adapting these, as well as answering my many questions. She has a clear enthusiasm for her craft which was quite inspirational. I’d like to come back for the full-day course when dates are available."

Wicked Gen Crafts responded:

"Thank you for the lovely feedback. I had a really great afternoon with both of you. I will be in touch about dates for a full-day course very soon."

John Doxey reviewed: Woodturning tuition in Wiltshire

"A really good introduction to lathe woodwork. Andy provided a very detailed explanation of the lathe, the various ways to set the machine up, the large range of tools and the machines and methods to keep them sharp to the importantly correct angles He then carefully worked through how the tools needed to be used and has a seemingly inexhaustible supply of patience in taking me through what I was attempting I booked a day course just to get an idea of this and loved it A great teacher!"

"The couple's knife making experience at Kerr forge was incredible and we couldn't recommend it enough. Jon was an absolutely fantastic, very knowledgeable teacher and craftsman who guided us through the blacksmithing fundamentals. Sarah Montagu reviewed: Pottery throwing sessions on the potter's wheel in Norfolk

"I was given the gift of half a day using a potters wheel for my birthday. My partner and I had a great morning with Pat, who is a very patient and knowledgeable teacher. It was a fun way to spend a morning and I would recommend it to anyone who fancies a little taster of what it’s like to use a potter’s wheel. I was delighted that we managed to make some reasonable pots with Pat’s help. It was also really fascinating to hear about her career and see some the beautiful pieces she has made."

Janice reviewed: Introduction to English Willow Basket Making- Weekend Course

"I thoroughly enjoyed my weekend and am delighted with both my basket and my bread basket. Jonathan was a very good teacher, explaining and demonstrating clearly. He was encouraging, willing to answer our queries and was patient when assistance or repetition was needed. It was lovely to be amongst like minded people. We were all beginners and learned both terminology and techniques. Everybody completed their small basket on the first day and on the second day whilst making our bread baskets we were able to consolidate some methods from the previous day and to try more techniques. The only change I would like would be the addition of a brief break for a hot drink in the afternoon. I will definitely consider signing up for another course with Jonathan."

Pauline reviewed: Free-machine Embroidery Workshop with Dawn Ireland

"I recently attended a whole day course with Dawn. It was amazing! The day just flew by. Dawn did a demonstration to begin where I learned new skills and was always on hand with help and advice during the day. She was also the perfect hostess with plenty of drinks, biscuits and a delicious chocolate cake. I had no experience of machine embroidery but soon became engrossed and also learned how to use previously unused functions on my sewing machine. The studio is the perfect environment - stimulating and with every conceivable resource. I can’t wait to go back again for another course."

Dawn Ireland Textile Artist responded:

"Thanks for your fabulous review Pauline. So pleased you enjoyed the workshop. Would be lovely to see you again!"

"This course was amazing! It was a great introduction to working with leather - all the tools were so interesting. I got lots of support and made a collar (with tag) and lead for my lurcher, both are gorgeous, made of lovely soft leather and ended up looking really professional. I was blown away by how talented and knowledgeable Cathy is. I could have just watched her make things for hours!! The time with Cathy was super relaxed and fun and she even had a puppy I got to stroke! Can’t thank her enough for opening up her studio to me."

Han reviewed: Creating a Viking knife an introduction to forging and knife making at Bearded Pig Forge

"A fantastic day all round. From the moment we arrived Spike was welcoming and informative, with clear instructions through demonstration of each step and patience as he guided us through the construction of our own items. At the start we were told it’ll be the best form of therapy, well… bashing metal with a hammer all day is surprisingly therapeutic! Having never done anything like this before, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but by the end of the day both myself and my dad felt really proud of the items we’d made, and gave us renewed respect for the skills and stamina involved. We thoroughly enjoyed being so engrossed in the project and seeing it evolve over the course of the day and will be recommending it to everyone we know!"
