Lynn Senior reviewed: Whole day wet felted landscape workshop with Claire Priestley of Teesdale Felt

"Wet felting workshop 19 January 2021. What a fab day! I went knowing nothing about felting and learnt so much, thank you Claire. I felt I had been given plenty of one-to-one tuition, guidance and creative suggestions that enabled me to produce a lovely picture, much to my surprise, as I simply couldn't envisage the outcome. Will definately do this again. Delicious lunch, snacks and drinks combined with small group of lovely people, enhanced the experience. Thank you :)"

Teesdale Felt responded:

"Thank you so much for your wonderful review. It was lovely meeting you and I was very impressed by your Roseberry Topping landscape which was colourful and enhanced by the use of lots of effect fibres. I hope you are very proud of it and will find a prominent place to hang it where it can be admired. I enjoyed the day too and couldn't have asked for a more lovely group of ladies to work with. Very best wishes, Claire x"

Karen (The Chatty One) reviewed: Gillian Arnold Anodized Aluminium Jewellery | North East Craft Workshops 19 Jan 2022

"An evening spent in the company of the lovely talented artist Gillian. On arrival I was instantly made to feel welcome and the workshop is a great intriguing space of beauty, inspiration and fab tools! Gillian allowed me the chance to explore techniques without having to dive straight in, it was a pure joy to discuss aspects, reactions and have the chance to experiment with all my "intense" what if questions that came to mind! Thank you for your patience with me Gillian, never once was I made to feel my questions were silly or irrelevant, in my book, your response, the sign of a true professional. I came away thrilled at all the thought provoking elements for me to try out, having had the chance to dip my toe in! Thank You Gillian, I will certainly see you again and enjoy a class "just for fun" next time."

Gillian Arnold responded:

"Thank you for taking the time to review the workshop Karen. I’m thrilled to hear how much you loved the evening! It was a delight to meet you! Amy and Martin reviewed: "2 Crafts in 1 Day!" pairs - woodturning & pottery experience

"We booked the 2 crafts in 1 day for a couple and had a brilliant day! We carried out woodturning in the morning and pottery in the afternoon… Louise and Simon showed a huge passion for their craft which was contagious. They guided us through the basics giving us lots of interesting information to help but then stood back and allowed us to get into our own groove and enjoy experimenting with the woodturning and pottery. Well run and thorough... a lovely relaxing day was had!"

Sue - reviewed: Creative Vibe - Glassblowing Sessions

"A delayed experience due to the Covid situation and aged parents concerns. Which was really annoying, however, was easily re-booked on another date - and was definitely worth the wait! Absolutely fabulous. We felt safe and Ricky is an extraordinarily enthusiastic, knowledgeable teacher - able to communicate instructions very well, with masses of patience and understanding. One of the most smiley people I have ever met! Highly recommend this - we both made four items, each a progression from the previous. I can't believe what we covered in such a short time. Ricky ensured we did everything - from gathering through to swinging the glass to make our vases... we have left four pieces to gradually cool in his kiln - and we can't wait to see them! A stupendous day - which was well worth the wait. Marvellous. If you are just wondering about it - go ahead and book - you will love it. Really very good indeed."

Helen reviewed: Free-machine Embroidery Workshop with Dawn Ireland

"Wonderful day, Dawn the perfect instructor knowing when to offer advice and when to leave to be creative and never judgmental. The whole environment is very inspiring with ideas, pictures, samples and more haberdashery than any shop these days. The studio is flooded with light too so a beautiful place to be. I had travelled 100 miles each way to the course and it was well worth it. Dawn was so hospitable with drinks on demand and the most amazing cake, well above and beyond what other courses offer The toilet is very clean and pleasant, I was concerned about this with the general age of the building but I need not have worried. Covid precautions were excellent too with clear signage about expectations and hand sanitizer at many locations. I felt very safe from this point of view. Thank you Dawn."

Dawn Ireland Textile Artist responded:

"Hi Helen, Thank you for your great review and taking the time to write with details. It was lovely to meet you and your mum. Thanks again, Dawn"

"Really enjoyed Kingsley’s small leather goods course. I was 1 of 3 people on the course which allowed for plenty of 121 support. There was a good steady pace throughout and the tools and materials were all top quality. Came away with a good understanding of basic cutting and sewing techniques and some links to leather and fittings suppliers. Thanks Kingsley."

Heather Phippen reviewed: 'Art your way' with Jill Jones FRSA, 3 hours

"I am a local girl and was hoping along with 4 other friends to attend one of Jill's courses but Covid struck but I did eventually spend a great day myself with Jill last November. It was a pleasure to paint alongside her, I have painted on and off for a few years but it was refreshing to use different brushes and techniques. Lunch was lovely (don't forget to let me have your soup recipe) and good company. Thank you Jill for a great day, you will see me again and you have got me interested in painting again. I would say to anyone who has painted or not painted in their life to visit Jill, see her studio and share her talent. Heather x"

Janie reviewed: Book binding - Zoom Saturday Morning Workshop

"Great course. Great teacher. Thank you Lorna for a really lovely, productive and inspiring workshop. A box arrived with everything we needed apart from scissors. Couldn’t have been easier. Just 5 of us on the course and Lorna patiently took us through and explained each stage, weaving in stories of traditional bookbinding methods and her own amazing introduction to the craft. It worked remarkably well on zoom with the camera honing in on different processes and easy to see and understand. Lorna helped anyone who was stuck without making a big deal of it just encouraging and telling stories of her own Challenges on the way. We all created gorgeous notebooks with lovely cloth covers. A real delight. It’s been very inspiring and Lorna generously offers on going support if needed. Really recommend this course and Lorna as a teacher."
