So you're looking to get into leatherworking? Fantastic! Our Basic Leatherworking Class is here to teach you everything you need to begin producing your own leather goods. In this class, we will cover the different types of leather and tools. We will explore wet moulding, edging, dying and finishing as well as fixings such as rivets and stitching. No finished item is produced during this workshop as we try to fit as much hands on crafting time and as many techniques into your session as possible. This beginners course is designed for all those who have looked at leathercrafting online, or seen it from afar. Maybe watched a few youtube videos or taken an interest in the idea as a whole. The aim of the course is for you to feel confident when leaving the studio that you can tackle your own projects at home. The course is designed for questions, exploring, mistakes and learning as we delve into leatherworking, what that means for you as a crafter and what items you would like to make. Each course is tailored to the student attending and our fantastic professional leathercrafting tutor, Pipa, will be by your side the entire day to ensure you gain the absolute most out of your time with us. There is plenty to learn on this great one day course. All our courses are privately booked and not group events, ensuring you get plenty of time and each course is tailored to you and your requirements. Our workshop space can accommodate up to two students making it ideal for that day away! After your workshop, you will also receive a copy of our 26 page Buyers Guide. Filled with articles, handy information and a list of UK suppliers, this booklet has been specially produced to ensure all our students leave our course with everything they could possibly need to continue their journey in leathercrafting. Located at our beautiful Leigh Spinners Mill Studio, we have plenty of tools, knowledge and equipment for you to get your hands on! Set in a fantastic and developing heritage building with an onsite carpark and cafe, we have everything covered and we look forward to meeting you!
