Such a great course! Was nervous before I started as this was outside of my comfort zone & my very limited artistic abilities. However, Lee soon put me at ease with his patient & extremely knowledgeable approach. Lee was very supportive throughout, sharing his techniques & expertise to give us all a thorough understanding of the process. And the venue was stunning. Beautiful building filled with some of the most stunning paintings and linoprints I've ever seen - such amazing talent. Would highly recommend Lee's course. Even if you're a newbie like me, I'd encourage you to give it a go.

The hushed atmosphere of Lee's professional lino printing studio. Ambitious I thought for one day, how to have four colours in your reduction lino print. Fully absorbed, relaxed and made doable by Lee.

Hadn’t done anything like this since school days very many years ago. But with Lee’s help I learned much more than then.....how to hold the cutters, what kinds of pressure to use, how to use the roller and mix the colours....all quite new to me. Was astonished at the resulting image that I produced, all in a very supportive and encouraging atmosphere. Thanks so much for a really great day that got me out of myself. Am sure I’ll be back for more before too long.

I had a great day in the studio with Lee and the others attending the Lino Printing course. Lee is very easy going and encourages all participants, before you know it you are working and learning without any lecture style tuition. We all got the benefit of Lee's obvious techincal knowledge and enthusiasm for print making and art in general. All the attendees were guided and encouraged but ultimately able to make their own choices and everyone ended up with their own bespoke print at the end of the day. The venue was great - I really liked the 'studio' vibe - seeing other works in progress. I would like to book further courses.

Response from Lee Wright Artist:

It was great to spend the day with you Gary and the rest of the 'gang'. Look forward to seeing you again later in the year...Lee

Wow, what a fantastic day.
Lee, made everyone very welcome to his beautiful studio. He has a lovely warm and relaxing way of imparting his knowledge and passion, no question was too silly or a problem. Lee, offered everyone equal tuition, advice and encouragement throughout to enable all to achieve some amazing results in just a day.
Highly recommended, you'll learn so much and be inspired to do more.
Thanks, I'll be back.

Response from Lee Wright Artist:

It was great to meet you Steven, you clearly got the knack of lino printing quickly. Looking forward to sharing more artistic adventures with you...

Lee was inspiring, teaching a mixed group including beginners with no art experience and others, with backgrounds in art and design. Everyone finished their work and took prints home. He gave each of us focussed individual support as needed. Thank you Lee, I’ll be back!

Response from Lee Wright Artist:

It was lovely to meet you Alison and spend a creative day with you. Well done on making such a beautiful print. Looking forward to seeing you again for some more!...Lee

I attended Lee's Lino Printing course this week and I just want to say a huge "Thank you" to Lee for sharing his knowledge and creativity with me. The course was beyond brilliant ... I just wish it was for 2 days ... I didn't want to stop! Lee has brought back creativity into my life which has been lacking for such a long time and for that I cannot thank him enough!
I will definitely be booking onto future courses with Lee ... but next time ... 2 days!
Lee is an excellent tutor and makes you feel immediately relaxed and confident in the process.
I have had lino cutting tools delivered this morning ... I cannot wait to get cracking with my next print!

Response from Lee Wright Artist:

It was a pleasure to welcome you to my studio Suz and help you learn the reduction lino printing process. You made a lovely print and I hope you keep it up!

What a great day! Learnt so much about colours and how to mix them to get the desired nuance which was great fun. Lee was respectful and encouraging, giving just enough tuition to guide us in the right direction with expertise advice. I was astonished at the result at the end of the day, had such an enjoyable time with great company. Thank you!

Response from Lee Wright Artist:

It was great to meet you Eva and glad you had such a good day. You should be very proud of the beautiful prints that you made. Lee

The Cwmdu studios are the perfect setting for a day of learning and creativity. Lee is a great teacher- giving us enough information to keep us on track but not overwhelming us. I did come out at the end of the day wishing I could do it all over again it was so enjoyable. I learned SO much. I also came away with four prints. Bonus!

Just had an excellent day with Lee, who took myself and 2 other novices through the process of creating a landscape using lino print. Whilst it felt like a really relaxed day we all managed to create a multi layered lino print that whilst bearing some resemblance to the pictures we had brought along as inspiration, also had our own interpretation of the landscape. A great introduction to lino print, and sufficient knowledge transferred to enable us to be able to develop this further if we wish.

This is a really excellent workshop. I came to the day with no knowledge or experience of Lino printing and left with an appreciation of what a beautiful art form this is. The studio is a great space and Lee is an incredibly knowledgeable and patient tutor and his own artwork is wonderful. We were guided in how to mix, choose and think about colour and were taken step by step through building the layers of our prints. Lee was postive and encouraging throughout the day. If you are a complete beginner like me or a have knowledge and experience you would like to build this is an excellent day that I would highly recommend.

As a complete novice to lino printing I didn’t know what to expect from the day but I was really delighted. Lee took our class of 6 gently through the process, working at our pace and giving encouragement every step of the way. The old school is a comfortable environment with log burners and plentiful tea and coffee. The day went very quickly and I was amazed at what we’d all achieved! I would recommend to anyone new to the process or wanting to learn more: you’re surrounded by Lee’s work and it’s very inspiring!

Had a great day at Humble By Nature for the 1 day Lino printing course with Lee. You get through a lot in one day covering all the processes involved for Lino printing, with multiple layers. Lees experience and understanding of technique and colour means he is able to assist everyone with their projects throughout the day so you get the most out of it and you develop your prints layer by layer.

Response from Lee Wright Artist:

Thanks a lot Kate,

Glad that you enjoyed the day and hope to see you again soon.

I had a great day in Lee's print studio. The building itself is nostalgic and is a brilliant venue. Very comfortable communal space, has a relaxed atmosphere and has the perfect ambience for inspiration and creativity.
Lee was very friendly as well as hospitable and generous. I enjoyed the print room experience very much. Wonderful to be in an artist's working space and to be able to see the pieces in various stages of completion and be around the beautifully finished prints too.
Will definitely be returning to learn more.

Very enjoyable day at Lee's lovely studio which is a really nice space to work in, made even better by the log burner. I really enjoyed Lee's workshop in landscape lino printing and will definitely be back for more excellent lessons, soup, and brownies. We worked quite hard but learnt a lot.
I was happy with my prints but now I know how to do it I think I will be able to achieve better results in the future. Lee also sent us links to where to buy all the equipment we would need to do it at home.

What a fab day! Lee makes everyone feel very welcome, relaxed and at home. His tuition skills are excellent and you never feel like you're too embarrassed to ask for help as he’s so accommodating of everyone’s needs and levels. The day leaves you wanting to learn and practice more. You know you’ve had a good day when you have completely zoned out of all the other things going on in your life and just been absorbed into this. It was a really interesting way of looking at a piece of artwork - dissecting it backwards (and in reflection) to get your end results. Also how blending colours just on the one layer can create interesting depth and effects. Really good for the brain! And of course the delicious soup and brownies are really good for the tum 😁. I’ll definitely be going again and would definitely recommend it!! Many thanks Lee for a fabulous course and follow up!

How great to be able to spend a whole day indulging in my favourite hobby! Although I've been doing linocutting for a little while, I really appreciated Lee's willingness to share his techniques and experience - I came away with improved techniques and eager to do more! The venue is inspirational in itself - full of Lee's fantastic work, which he frequently referred to to illustrate learning points. The whole day was a good balance of tuition and hands on practice, and everyone came away with a handful of prints that exceeded their expectations. Great stuff - thanks Lee

Response from Lee Wright Artist:

Thanks a lot Nicholas. Glad you learnt some new things from the day; keep up the great prints...Lee

As a total novice, not just to Lino printing but all art since school, I was a little nervous but was soon out at ease by the friendly welcome from Lee and my co course members.
The tuition was just at the right level, with my instruction being less complex than others but nonetheless I learnt so much in the day that I am enthused to continue!
A really enjoyable course, with lovely people and a recognisable landscape at the end. Thoroughly recommended.

Response from Lee Wright Artist:

Glad you enjoyed the day Andy. Great to meet you and fabulous first print!

Brilliant day in a lovely venue. Lee is a great tutor, always on hand but giving space and time to allow participants to get hands on experience. The whole day was warm and friendly in lovely company and I learnt a lot about simplifying designs, not over complicating composition, mixing colours, and loads of other really helpful and useful tips. I can’t wait to put these into practise at home.

Response from Lee Wright Artist:

Great to meet you Liz and glad you got a lot out of the day. Wonderful print too!

Thanks Margaret. So pleased you had a great day...and what beautiful prints you made!

I really enjoyed my day with Lee creating a winter landscape lino print. I had a little bit of experience with print making but I still learnt so much from Lee – especially about colours, simplifying a landscape to suit a lino print and the reduction technique – and was amazed that I managed to create a three layer lino print in one day. And, more importantly, it looked like the River Wye landscape I was trying to emulate! Lee's calm and confident manner was infectious and he effortlessly moved around the group supporting each person either with a positive comment or some hands-on assistance. It was lovely spending time learning, creating and chatting with a friendly and supportive group of people. From seeing everyone's seemingly not too impressive first printed layer it was amazing to watch each individual lino print landscape come to life as the next two layers were added. A hugely inspiring day.
