Gemma Turner reviewed: Natural soap & cosmetic products workshop

"Such a cute little venue. Arrived to teas and coffees and a table laid out so beautifully ready for our afternoon tea later. The group was great, Julie and Janet got us all settled in and we were all chatting together in no time. Plenty of time was given for making each product and Julie was friendly, knowledgeable and happy to take questions. Everything was easy enough to make - no prior skills needed, just an interest. We all made one of everything so could pick out own scents/colours for each product. I came home with loads of new knowledge and a surprisingly large amount of each product (would have cost me a fortune for similar in a certain natural high street cosmetics store)! The afternoon tea was divine, our requests were catered for. Every detail had been thought of, everything ran smoothly and it was a brilliant day. The cost felt a bit of a stretch for my budget, but I really wanted to do it, so i went for it. So glad i did! When you add up the skills learnt to make future products, the afternoon tea, the fun had and the cost of the products you come away with - worth every penny and then some! Excellent value, excellent time had and i can't wait for my ingredients to arrive so i can start playing (oops I mean making) at home. I would be delighted to recommend this to anyone & everyone! Thank you!"

Lisa reviewed: 1-to-1 Beginners Leatherworking Workshop

"Went with a small group of friends T=to do the beginner course as few of us had done any more than some very basic stuff. Pipa took us through so many techniques and tools in an unhurried pace so you didn’t feel overwhelmed. She also gave some great tips on what to buy starting out vs what not to. She’s an excellent teacher with oodles of patience. An extremely fun day and we’re already planning to return to learn more."

Caroline reviewed: Needle felt landscapes workshop on Orkney, including lunch

"That was the most relaxing day and I was impressed that we each produced a lovely landscape picture under Catherine's expert tuition. It would make a great souvenier of Orkney if you were visiting, if you live here it is a welcome break from the usual daily chores! She provided an excellent lunch and there was lots of useful chat about craftwork - it was a good opportunity to get a view of all the other amazing things she makes. Highly recommended."

Carrie G reviewed: Making a stained glass leaded panel

"I've just come back buzzing from a great workshop with Caryl, learning to make Christmas tree decorations. I'm not a 'crafty' person at all (neither practical or dextrous) but I love coloured glass and the workshop day was given to me as a gift. So I was in some trepidation, wondering whether I would be able to make anything at all, never mind something half decent. I wasn't the only one with self-doubt! So our small group got on well and we had a lovely day together. Caryl was an excellent teacher and guided us through everything, step by step. I ended up making 3 stars that I'll be proud to hang on our Christmas tree - a lovely reminder of a great day. (And a really excellent substantial lunch too - plus masses of hot drinks and nice biscuits!)"

Karen Palmer reviewed: Create a seamless felted pouch, wrist cuffs or vessel - wet felt workshop

"This was such a lovely workshop! Welcomed into the workshop leader's home, we were able to be inspired by all her own beautiful handmade art. A short introduction over a hot drink and biscuit and we were ready to begin. Laryna guided us carefully and gently over the process of wet felting, never taking over, and so we could be justly proud of our finished pieces - one phone case by the 19 year student, and one gorgeous vase, by me ? I'm so delighted to have learned a new skill that requires very little material and no specialised equipment at all."

Laryna's Creative Fiber Craft responded:

"Thanks for your kind review Karen. It was great to see you both learning the new skill and implementing it into your felt projects. Hope you'll enjoy your beautiful vase and Angel her pouch. I wish you lots of fun and success with more felting activities. You're very welcome to join another felt workshop, if you're looking for more inspiration. All the best Laryna"

Monika Potaszynska reviewed: Leather Crossbody/Messenger or Tote bag

"I had taken an interest of working with leather a while back and was very happy that I managed to come across this workshop. Initially there were no available dates left , but after emailing Richard he kindly added an extra date and even gave me an option of choosing a preferred week. The workshop itself was very interesting as Richard shared more and more of his leather knowledge and I had to keep taking notes, which will be very handy next time I want to make something out of leather. I really enjoyed going through every step of making my bag while having a cup of tea and casual conversation about leather and more. The day flew by so fast and I left the workshop with a big smile on my face, tones of knowledge, some new skills learned and a bright new purple bag! If you are new to leather craft, this is the best workshop to start with. I highly recommend it."

"A truly fantastic workshop. This was my second project with Tejal. Firstly, I made a stained glass table top and this time i made a column lamp. Both pieces are beautiful which as a family we will always treasure. Tejal is a brilliant teacher with inspirational ideas and is patient and kind. Her workshop is an oasis of calm in her garden which is beautifully fitted out with all the necessary equipment and high quality materials. I thoroughly enjoyed my classes and I am looking forward to the next. Thank you very much."

Alison Maguire reviewed: Glass Fusing and Slumping for Beginners and Improvers

"Many thanks to you, Jean and Janice for a fabulous experience at my first fused glass workshop. It was a treat for our friend Jane's 'special' birthday as you know, but we all had a super time. You were both very patient with us all, clear with your instructions and tuition and you never made us feel rushed. Although we were concentrating hard, ensuring we were taking everything in, the time just flew by, which is always a good sign that you are enjoying yourself. The lunch was delicious and we all went back for more!! Thankfully we didn't have any breakages and we are all happy with our creations. Many thanks again Alison x"

JJ Fused Glass responded:

"Thank you Alison, for this generous review. It was a pleasure to meet you all and help to celebrate Jane’s birthday. I’m sorry I couldn’t be there when you collected your work, but we are both really pleased you enjoyed the day and are happy with your art work."

Pam Richardson reviewed: Wood carving for beginners and improvers at Ness Botanic Gardens Cheshire

"My daughter and I had never used chisels or dabbled in woodcraft before we attended the Beginners Class but the prospect of creating a carved owl in a weekend really appealed to us. Although we were apprehensive at first we were soon under the spell of John’s brilliantly humorous but technical way of teaching. A small class with all tools provided and lots of one to one encouragement meant the whole weekend was a great time for all the students. We absolutely loved the course and hope to continue woodcarving now that we have been instructed in the basics. A ‘must’ course for anyone interested in crafts and wanting a new creative challenge."

John White Woodcarving responded:

"Thanks Pam, very pleased to hear you both enjoyed the course and that you are now on your way to being happy woodcarvers"

sandra White reviewed: 1-to-1 Beginners Leatherworking Workshop

"I had a brilliant day at the Wolf Studio. I do quilting so learning a different skill was a challenge but Pipa put me at my ease straight away and made me feel I could achieve my goal to make a bag. I was taught to dye leather, lacing, hand stitching and punching a design onto the leather and that was just a few of the techniques that I was shown. Pipa is a brilliant teacher who has patience and is very giving in her knowledge. She wants you to succeed. Its for any age group. I am 75 and I made a leather bag."

Julie Goldsmith reviewed: Fused glass Sailboat workshops in Codsall with Suzie Lavender

"I attended this course today as I'd always been interested in learning how to craft with glass. Suzie was very welcoming and extremely knowledgeable and introduced the session very clearly. We had a good variety of materials to use and were able to experiment with the resources provided. Suzie gave detailed guidance when needed and was eager to help when needed. The course gave me a great opportunity to get to know glass fusion techniques and to make some lovely decorations. I highly recommend Suzie as a teacher and this interesting course. I hope to be back soon to learn more about creating with glass :)"
