Avril Mulligan reviewed: Beginners Goldwork

"Really enjoyed it and Sonya was very patient and explained the techniques in a way I could understand!! Especially as it's about 50 years since I last did embroidery. The only thing I would recommend on the list of equipment is a magnifying lamp for those of us who are visually challenged!!. Thank you Sonya xx"

Thyme To Create responded:

"Thanks Avril, it was a pleasure to meet you and you did a great job. I hope you come and join me again with or without your magnifier!! Sonja x"

Becky R reviewed: Art in the Garden

"I could not recommend this enough! Brian is a great tutor who really helps you create a design you will love. He has art books on hand to inspire & so many of his own incredible makes around the beautiful building you cant help but feel creative. I have never done any glass work before and have come away with a wonderfully sizable piece (aprox 130cm by 30cm) which I'm incredibly proud of and know my friends visiting the garden will love (and probably be slightly jelous of). The price of this course, for the amount you learn, the final piece you can create and the fun you will have, is worth every penny and much more! You can also buy some unique handmade pieces like jewellery and cocktail stirrers which he sells online but getting to see them in real life (without extra postage) is a special treat. Thanks so much for a wonderful few days!"

"I have taken Tracy’s sneaker workshop and really enjoyed myself. The communication beforehand was helpful and the choice of leathers on arrival was really great. Tracy explained everything well and the homemade Barabrith was delicious. The end result was a super pair of sneakers. I wore them home and kept them on as they were so comfy! Thankyou again"

"A really enjoyable course! I loved making the journal and Cass's video tutorials were clear and concise and broken down well into manageable sessions. Kerry reviewed: Pot throwing on the wheel for a Half Day

"What a fabulous afternoon! First day after lockdown, great to spend 3 hours quality time, in the sunshine with my teenager, under Richard’s excellent supervision. As first time potters, Richard quickly put us at our ease and his simple, but very effective instruction meant we were throwing pots in no time! Not quite Ming vases, but we each had 3 or 4 decent pots to be proud of by the end, can’t wait to go back in a few weeks and glaze them. Small groups (we were the only 2), great tuition and excellent value for money as includes the day throwing, all instruction and raw materials, a second visit back to glaze and firing. If you want to have ago at throwing pots, can’t recommend Richard enough, going to book on his Raku course next!"

Potterydayz responded:

"Thank you very much Kerry for the stunning review, it was a pleasure to have you both along on the first day. I look forward to seeing you for glazing or on the Raku course. Best wishes."

Nathaniel Ferris reviewed: One day stained glass workshop London for beginners and enthusiasts

"Tegal's course is perfect for anyone who wants to learn a new skill or develop an existing one in a beautiful, relaxed environment. She is extremely friendly and obviously experienced in teaching all ages. This was the first art class I have taken in years and my only regret is not finding Tegal sooner, she has helped reinvigorate my creative side and was very helpful when it came to sourcing affordable materials. Overall, an incredible experience, with a knowledgeable teacher. Highly recommend."

GlassSeasons responded:

"Thanks so much, Nathan, I learned so much from you too, take care.hope to seeing your art work someday."

Tina Bull reviewed: Wet felted vessels - seam free! With Purr & Wag It, Tabletop Workshops

"I can't rate the fabulous service from Heather at Purr and Wag It highly enough. I bought the wet felted vessels package as a gift for my sister-in-law and Heather answered my initial email enquiry within minutes! I was able to choose colours, delivery preferences and add a message, which Heather popped on a gift tag. The materials were gift wrapped and sent direct to my sister-in-law. Heather emailed me, complete with photos of everything beautifully gift wrapped, to confirm it had been sent. I'm sure she's going to love it! Thank you Heather for such super, personal service."

Martika reviewed: Book binding - Zoom Saturday Morning Workshop

"The book binding kit was sent in advance of the workshop so there was no stress involved in preparing for the workshop. It was nice to hear that all the items were sourced locally. Lorna started the workshop by going through our kit so that we knew the names of all the items we were going to be using. Lorna was professional, patient and made everyone feel welcome. Lorna provided clear instructions and didn't hesitate to go over anything again. The workshop progressed at a good pace. I really enjoyed making the notebook, what a great way to start the weekend."

Crumps Barn Studio responded:

"Thank you so much - so glad you enjoyed the workshop and it set your weekend off to a good start! ~ Crumps Barn Studio"

Brett Hollyhead reviewed: Introduction to candle making workshop

"There isn't enough words to describe how much me and my best friend enjoyed this course. Both Pauline and Olga were so friendly, informative and professional. I loved every minute of it learning all the tips that were taught and I came away with some beautiful candles and the knowledge on how to make my own. Absolute pleasure to take part and I cant wait to come to the shop again to restock on my wax melts. I can't recommend Bonita candles enough."

Helen Gill reviewed: Knife Making and Bladesmith Classes: Hand-Forged Viking Knife

"I purchased this course as a 50th birthday present for my husband and also as an early birthday gift for our 14 year old son. They both returned today absoutely buzzing! They had an absolutely fantastic day and learned a huge amount in such a short space of time. They were both full of praise for the instructors who were always there when they were needed, but also allowed them both sufficient independence. It is so rare to find something that makes a 50 year old and a 14 year old smile from ear to ear! The pokers and knives they both made are brilliant. THANK YOU!"

Anvil Forge responded:

"Hi Helen thanks for the review , I could tell that the Boys had fun , they really were engrossed and only needed telling once and seemed to take everything in quickly which meant they were a joy to teach. I am looking forward to them coming back for another session. best wishes John"

"This was the first time I had done any stone carving. The setting for the course was very peaceful and Sebastian was very informative about stone and the tools needed to work it as well as how to translate my chosen design onto the stone. Altogether it was a relaxing weekend course with to my surprise a pleasing piece of sculpture. Thank you Sebastian."

Chris Davidson reviewed: 2 day intensive making and carving leather workshop

"I've just completed a 2 day intensive carving and making course with Slim. He took a novice with a few self-taught skills to someone with the confidence to call himself a leather worker. I made a wallet with a Viking ship image and am "well chuffed" with the result. Slim is a great judge of when to offer advice and when to leave you to it. He and his family are so friendly and hospitable. I can't believe how much my skills improved in just 2 days! Many thanks, Slim. A great experience."

Ross Leather and Wood responded:

"Thanks Chris, it was a pleasure working with you. I'm so glad you have the confidence now to persue leather work further. You did a really beautiful job. Well done ?"

Terry McCarthy reviewed: Stool making courses

"Brilliant. Could not have enjoyed it more. Ended up with a stool that was much better than I expected and that was due to the great (and patient) teaching by Danny and his team. There were nine of us on the course ranging in age from teenagers to over 60's. Everybody was happy to help each other out. Eating lunch and drinking tea around the fire was very pleasant, weather a bit cold and a bit wet but it didn't matter at all. I would thoroughly recommend this course. I am planning to go on one of the longer chair making course in the future."
