Melissa reviewed: Unique hand made Lampshade making workshop

"I spent a fantastic day with a friend in Max's beautiful workshop. We rummaged through a huge assortment of fabrics and embellishments as well as learning how to screen print. Max has amazing sewing machines that can do stitches beyond anything I've ever seen before! And then we learnt how to put all our hard work with the fabrics into creating a lampshade. Max is knowledgeable and patient and I can't recommend her highly enough. Also cupcakes!"

Adela Webb reviewed: One day fused glass

"I spent a lovely day with Melissa in her cosy glass studio. I learnt how to safely cut glass and how to put together a glass piece ready to be fused. Melissa was was very knowledgeable and her instructions were easy to understand which made me feel at ease. There were plenty of different coloured glass pieces to choose from along with lots of other shiny bits and bobs to use. Best of all I created something I absolutely love and I'm so proud of!! I would absolutely recommend this workshop and I'll definitely be attending more in the future."

Samantha Briscoe reviewed: Beginners Soap Making Course with Afternoon Tea

"I was really looking forward to this course once I booked; it was even better than I could have dreamt. I had a wonderful day and learnt so much. This course stands out, as not only do you make soaps but Paula goes through the whole process from start to finish and more. The course is held in Paula's beautiful house and she is a wonderful host and teacher; so enthusiastic and helpful. The lunch/afternoon tea provided was lovely and homemade (very impressed with the scones!). Paula was very thorough with her teaching of the soap making process so if you want to carry on at home, you can do so safely. She went through the properties of all the oils that can be used and when/how you might want to adjust her recipe. She also covered legislation around product safety, using essential oils, registrations etc. So if you are wanting to sell your own soaps you have a great starting point. Love, love, loved it!"

Old Bexley Soap & Candle Co. responded:

"Thank you Samantha. So happy to read your review, glad you enjoyed it so much!"

Martin reviewed: Leather dog collar and lead workshop

"This is an excellent course in a fantastic setting. Christina is clearly an extremely talented and knowledgeable tutor. I went from somebody who has never sewn a thing and with zero leather craft experience to coming away with what I consider a quality dog lead and collar in a day. All for probably the same it would cost to buy a mass produced one in a shop but with the satisfaction of having made it and picking up a lot of new skills. The facilities provided and the lunch were top quality. I would happily look to book further courses with Christina."

Niki Taylor reviewed: Crafts in the Valley - Batik textile workshop in Hebden Bridge, West Yorkshire

"I’ve done a few batik workshops prior to Mel’s and I’d say hers comes out with top marks. As someone who is a little terrified of art I found Mel to be an excellent teacher at giving clear step by step instruction and attention to detail using various techniques. Always at hand if you make mistakes. She made the classroom warm and cosy and provides tea and cakes. Mel is a warm, welcoming and attentive teacher and I would highly recommend her classes to anyone. The creations produced in her classes are of a high standard because of that."

"This was a really great experience. Ange is a patient and knowledgeable teacher who helped me realise the design I had in my head. After a few hours in her work space (good tea and great biscuits btw) I left wearing a fabulous pinkie ring that all my mates have noticed! Enjoyable and rewarding - thanks Ange!! Actually, I've been thinking of a design for an index finger ring..."

Petra reviewed: Metalwork Craft weekend with The Iron Lady - Bradwell Blacksmiths

"Superb. Natalie is an excellent teacher, very knowledgeable and manages to help everyone with their individual needs, interests and varied abilities, thoroughly enjoyed the two days and learnt so much, but in a very manageable way. MIG, TIG, stick welding and blacksmithing with a finished individual project, superb. I would definitely recommend you give it a go whatever you level of experience, brilliant."

Laura Carter reviewed: Make your own wedding rings - Bristol

"What an experience! I had no idea how special it would be to make our rings. I knew that I wanted bespoke rings, but I didn’t know that the process of making them would be so emotional. Lucy is wonderful. She is such an integral part of the day, her presence and aura make you feel really comfortable and confident. I felt incredibly close to Dan while we were working, helping each other and making decisions together. You are walked through the process of making the rings in a way that allows you to learn for yourself while making sure that things go to plan. I loved that we got to make a practice ring that we could take home. Our rings have turned out perfectly, we are both over the moon. I can not recommend making your rings with Lucy enough. Please don’t think twice, it’s an experience that really kicks off the wedding magic."

Sarah Ollier reviewed: Woven bark craft (The foraging bag)

"An excellent intro to bark craft. It was really therapeutic working with natural materials in the forest and the finished results were all unique and beautiful. We had plenty of info on techniques and materials and as much or little intervention from Nadine as we wanted. We all worked at our own pace but everyone left with a beautifully finished woven pouch. Highly recommended."

Sarah Ollier reviewed: Spoon carving for beginners with Green Fox Wild Crafts

"We did this course in a beautiful forest setting. Nadine was a great tutor, gradually introducing new techniques and leaving us to work at our own pace with help when we needed it. She have us plenty of info on tools and materials to geek out on too. Highly recommended."

Gregory Waring reviewed: Spoon carving for beginners with Green Fox Wild Crafts

"I did an introductory 2.5 hour course which taught us the skills needed to whittle from a spoon blank to a completed spoon (didn't include the axe work to get to a spoon-ish shaped bit of wood but this is included on the full day version). Nadine was a great teacher - introducing the skills gradually and providing just the right level of supervision/intervention to ensure we could learn in safety and at our own pace. I was delighted to leave at the end of the session with my first spoon, and a surprisingly respectable spoon at that. As a bonus, now I understand why my previous attempts at hacking a spoon out of a stick with a pocket knife hadn't worked out all that well! Highly recommended!"

"Fab time. So informative, well lit, easy to access space with plenty of good facilities. There was so much space to work and it was the best break from work. I hope to start my business using the printing skills I've learnt. Ruth was so helpful before and after the class, answering questions and also helping me to get set up. I'll be back soon enough, I'm sure x"
