A really great way to spend a day and try out a new craft. Catherine is a superb teacher, giving just the right amount of guidance and demonstration to get us up and running to produce our own design. She kept us all moving along with gentle nudges when we were starting to get lost. Her knowledge of materials and techniques is wonderful and she was able to communicate these effortlessly to complete beginners. We all left with a felt picture, each very unique and personal, which we were delighted with. Great teacher, great day, great fun. Thanks Catherine!

Response from Arts a Flutter:

Thankyou for that review Rhona. I thought you all did extremely well and I will be using the work you all produced to highlight my courses. Cheers

That was the most relaxing day and I was impressed that we each produced a lovely landscape picture under Catherine's expert tuition. It would make a great souvenier of Orkney if you were visiting, if you live here it is a welcome break from the usual daily chores! She provided an excellent lunch and there was lots of useful chat about craftwork - it was a good opportunity to get a view of all the other amazing things she makes. Highly recommended.

We had a great day learning about needle felting pictures. It was a new experience for us both and we were very pleased with the results and what we learned and the enjoyable day we had together. Most of all I was very pleased to have been able to book this course at reasonable short notice and that we were able to have a one to one class! What a treat!!! Thank you and I recommend the needle felting course to anyone that has an interest in wool crafts and wants to spend a relaxed day in a creative atmosphere!

I was up in Orkney on a family holiday recently and a few of us decided to try out the Landscape Felting workshop - we had such a lovely day! Well worth the money and Catherine is a fantastic tutor. A very talented artist too! Well recommended!

Response from Arts a Flutter:

Thankyou for your review, it was great to have a bunch of Lancashire lasses up in Orkney. Hope you return. Regards Catherine

Just didn't know what to expect as my husband bought me Catherine's felting workshop as a Christmas gift but it was a superb day. I had wondered how on earth I would spend 6 hours sticking needles in a bit of fabric...but I was totally engrossed for the whole time. Catherine allowed creativity to flow and interjected with expert advice whenever necessary. She was great company. I was so proud of the landscape I created and still can't quite believe how easy I found it. I would highly recommend Catherine's felting workshop to anyone including total beginner like me.

I had no previous experience of needle felting and I’m absolutely delighted with the picture I made with Catherine’s excellent tuition and support. I thoroughly enjoyed the day and was completely absorbed in what I was doing. It was a wonderful way to spend a day and to come home with a unique hand made picture which I love. Catherine was knowledgable and patient and I learnt enough to continue felting at home.

As someone who has never tried needle felting before, I was amazed that by the end of the day I had produced a landscape picture I felt very proud of! Catherine is a lovely person, great teacher and happy to give you as much (or as little) support as you require. It was a very relaxed and enjoyable day and I would thoroughly recommend.

I have just spent a lovely day needle felting with Catherine. Being a complete novice at this craft I was very surprised that I could go home with a wonderful picture. Catherine is such a pleasant and helpful teacher calm and patient, the time passed so quickly. I will certainly be framing my art work and showing to my friends.

I am very to new needle felting and needed some guidance on technique and types of wool. Catherine was very patient and understanding and the tuition was excellent.
Catherine was encouraging and really believed that I could create the picture that I wanted. WIth her help and support I have created a lovely picture which I will (hopefully) frame and display.

I would recommend a workshop with Catherine and Arts A Flutter if you want to have a go at needle felting, or indeed any of the other craft courses which are offered.

As a complete novice to needle felting I wasn't sure what to expect - but with Catherine's wonderful explanations, demonstrations and guidance throughout the day I was able to produce a landscape picture that I am very proud of. Her enthusiasm has given me the motivation to continue with this craft and develop my skills further. She is an excellent teacher, with great sensitivity - she knows when to offer help and when to leave us to develop our own imagination and creativity. hank you for a lovely day!
