David reviewed: One day fused glass course at North Norfolk Stained Glass

"This was my first experience of working with glass and Paul is an excellent teacher. I have waited to do a review until I received my finished piece. I am very happy with the end result and a number of people have commented on it very positively. The day of the course was very relaxed and an excellent lunch was provided. Paul's home and workshop are situated in a beautiful quiet rural area and it was lovely to see wildlife such as deer and pheasants. This course is highly recommended. "

Mina Katouzian reviewed: Introduction to simple Ink Drawings

"I attended the pen and ink workshop run by Nina. It was a lovely morning. Nina is always so well prepared and engaging. (I have done one of her other workshops in the past). It was a lovely venue, and Nina took us through the various stages step by step so we gained confidence by building up our skills gradually . It was a very peaceful and relaxing session. I am not particularly good at drawing or 'art' but Nina always makes learning so accessible by her well prepared classes and her positive and calm style. I definitely intend to attend other workshops by Nina in the future. "

"A fabulous morning with Annabelle in the most beautiful setting, a stunning workshop surrounded by beautiful views! Annabelle is a wonderful teacher; making the morning such fun but productive and enabling all participants to make fabulous bowls. I was so inspired that I made a bowl the next day. The pastries and cakes were phenomenal, thanks to Alison. This was a birthday present for my sister - I'm sure I shouldn't have enjoyed it quite so much!"

Cynthia Turner reviewed: Wet Felting Bowl Workshop

"I very much enjoyed Rachel's Wet Felting Bowl Workshop. I'd had a go at wet felting before and wanted to learn how to make a bowl. Rachel's a great tutor, patient and friendly, and her instructions are very good, both during the workshop and the written notes we were given, so much so that I was inspired to make more bowls at home. It's a lovely craft to try, very tactile, mindful and therapeutic."

"Hi Cynthia, Thank you for such lovely feedback! It was a pleasure to teach you how to hand felt a bowl and I am thrilled that you have continued to make further bowls. Clearly you have caught the felting bug! Thanks again and Happy Felting! Best wishes, Rachel Morley"

"I had a fantastic day with Rachel creating my beautiful felt bowl. Rachel took us through the process of wet felting step by step, and was on hand to help at every stage. We had a wide range of coloured wools to choose from for our bowl, one colour for the inside and one for the outside and I was really please with my outcome. I would definitely recommend this workshop if you are looking for a great introduction to wet felting. Thank you Rachel for a fabulous day ! Alison"

Dave reviewed: One day welding course for two people

"Two of us attended this one day course, a friend who'd done a small amount of welding with not very satisfactory results and me a complete novice. Brilliant day, Julian is a very knowledgeable chap and he spent a long time with us well over the the allotted time. Lots of hands on practice as well as coaching. We feel confident to now go on and practice further as well as starting repairs/fabrication with our own kit. Can't recommend this highly enough to anyone wanting to get started with welding."

Julian Wadsworth - Artist Blacksmith responded:

"Thank you Dave for your review. Both of you did really well and understand how to achieve a good strong weld. Good luck with your projects, and remember if there is anything you need to speak to me about then please don't hesitate to get in touch. Regards, Julian"

Donna Young reviewed: Crafty Basketry's Willow Basket Making for Beginners - Day Course at Cowshed Workshop, Tenterden, Kent

"I recently completed a one day basket weaving course with Marianne at the Cow Shed in Tenterden. I have to say, it was a full on day but so enjoyable! Basket weaving is quite hard work but Marianne was so friendly, patient and encouraging that I managed to keep going, and produce a basket that I was very proud of for my first attempt. Thank you Marianne for sharing your fantastic skills and for being such a wonderful teacher. I certainly would like to come back to try making something else as it's so satisfying when you finally achieve the finished object. "

Crafty Basketry responded:

"Thank you so much for your review! It was a pleasure to show you all the ins and outs, Donna. I'm living the life, teaching people like you; so enthusiastic and eager to learn. Basket weaving is one of the more difficult projects, as it's a long process and it's quite particular, as the tensions need to be right to hold things and be strong. I think you may like the process of weaving a lampshade or plant support, as it's more playful. Lampshades can be made as an artform and won't need to be strong. You already know the main techniques, so it should be an enjoyable challenge. Look forward to working with you again soon."

Karen Roach reviewed: Willow Chicken , Heron or Flying Owl Sculpture The David Hall

"Jo, has a warm welcoming manner and is very accommodating of everybody's needs. She is clearly a very experienced crafts woman, so is able to work willow expertly and consequently she can solve any problems the leaners have when making. She leads the course at pace through the day and it's a busy day that is fun and completely absorbing, but still with time for a cuppa and a laugh. If you are a novice or expert , you will come away with a sculpture to be proud of"

Jo Sadler at Forged n Willow responded:

"Thank you so much, Karen, that's very kind. It was a good day of making and super sculptures!!"

Janet Fearn reviewed: Furniture Painting Workshop (Levels 1&2 techniques covered) in Cheadle Gr Manchester

"Very comprehensive course with lots of information about products and techniques which was backed up with take away notes which was brilliant as I could concentrate on what Jo was saying rather than be scribbling away making my own notes. Jo kept the day flowing at a comfortable pace and once we started painting our own pieces moved evenly through the group offering guidance and advice whilst allowing for individual creativity. I was extremely pleased with the small table I painted, it looks fabulous! The Cheadle venue is in a lovely tucked away quaint location with plenty of free parking. The home baked treats were a delicious bonus :)"

The Boho Shed responded:

"What a lovely review Janet, thank you so much. I'm so pleased you enjoyed the day. You made such a gorgeous job of your table, I loved it! I hope you enjoy your new found hobby and I'm sure you will create some amazing pieces ongoing. x"

Roger Gorrod reviewed: Beginners 1-day 1-2-1 woodturning workshop for 1 person

"I did the 1-2-1 one day introduction to woodturning course in April 2024. This is a great day in which a lot is learnt in a very easy-going, friendly, relaxed style with Simon as the tutor. It's great fun and you even end up with something to show for your efforts. The workshop location is easy to find, spacious, with good parking and a lovely lunch is provided. It truly is a great way to gain an introduction to woodturning, I'd thoroughly recommend it."

Martin C reviewed: Tiffany stained glass wild flowers workshop

"I had a really good enjoyable day. My first time working with stained glass. The workshop was a Birthday present. Kate is friendly and welcoming. She was brilliant demonstrating each skill as we progressed through the day. She was happy to go over the techniques again ensuring we understood each stage and spent time with us individually providing encouragement and advice. I even managed to produce 4 bits of work which I was really pleased with. Booked in for another course in a couple of months."

Martin McAssey Glass responded:

"Thank you for the lovely review. We look forward to seeing you again in a couple of months."
