Trevis Young reviewed: Half Day Introductory Woodturning Course for 1 or 2 people near Salisbury Wiltshire

"Wow! What a great course. The set up is really good, and I was working on the larger lathe, as I was doing the course on my own. George is an incredible teacher, who had a gentle manner, is very personable, and generous with his time, his assistance (if needed) and encouragement. Wood turning is new for me and I thoroughly enjoyed the course. Can't wait to do some more!! Of all the craft courses I have done, this has been the best. "

Louise reviewed: Painting Restoration

"This course is fantastic. So informative and hands-on. Rachel knows all there is to know on picture restoration (ie she looked at everyone's pictures and had solutions for all the problems we raised with our projects - and some were very complicated). Also, in addition she is a lovely person, and a great teacher - she not only knows her stuff, she is also great at expressing what she knows to our benefit. She's also a great confidence booster - which is great when you are not sure what you are doing, as a beginner, ie she reassures you it will work/ be OK etc. even on precious paintings. "

Rachael Milligan at Little Leaf Studio responded:

"Dear Louise, Thank you very much for your very kind review. It was lovely to meet you this week and investigate your paintings. I really hope you enjoy continuing to clean them and I look forward to seeing them and yourself again! With best wishes, Rachael"

Alison reviewed: Circular sock knitting machine 'Sock School'

"I had a CSM, but did not know how to use it. This course changed this. We started the course on time. Ann was clear in what she wanted us to do, patient in correcting mistakes and ensured that we had half a sock made by coffee break, one whole sock made by lunch time and a second sock by the close of the course. Lunch was provided and was excellent both in quality and quantity. Individual needs were catered for, and altogether it was a most enjoyable, although long day. I would recommend this course to anyone interested in how to make socks on a vintage sock machine."

Cymbal Knits responded:

"Thank you Alison for your lovely comments. I hope you get your machine working soon. Anne "

Diana Owen reviewed: Weave a Country Basket

"A full-on day of learning a new technique and an enjoyable one to boot, with the added bonus of taking home a finished basket. The group of 8 was a good size as Juliet, our Tutor, was able to give us individual help when it was needed. Juliet was well-prepared, approachable and knowledgeable in her subject and prepared to share information on where to purchase the reeds and tools should we wish to take it up as a hobby. A great venue, course and day out."

Field Studies Council, Flatford Mill responded:

"Hi Diana, thank you so much for the kind review. It's great to hear you really enjoyed learning a new skill and got to take home your very own basket. It's so good to hear you had such a positive experience. We hope you can visit us again soon and maybe try one of our other craft courses. Best of luck with your future weaving, Juliet and the Field Studies Council team."

Kim reviewed: Pottery throwing sessions on the potter's wheel in Norfolk

"If you want to learn to throw on the potters wheel I fully recommend this class. Pat has so much knowledge and experience in ceramics and is a brilliant teacher. The two hour slot is perfect if you want a taste of throwing and the 1:1 tuition means you learn so much more than if you were in a class sharing with other people. Pats knowledge isn’t limited to throwing either. We got to talk about working with different clay bodies , glazing, exhibiting work and so much more. Such a good experience! "

Pat Southwood responded:

"Hi Kim, thanks for your lovely review, it was a pleasure having you at the studio, good luck on your ceramic journey! Pat. "
