This two-day course is perfect for those with a stained glass project in mind that would take longer to create than our one-day Improvers class allows. Perhaps you'd like to create a stained glass window, or you have a design for your very own piece of glass art. The course is open to those who've already done some stained glass - including those who have attended our foiling or leading beginners classes. This course is not suitable for beginners! Your stained glass project design. The course includes a design review on a date that suits you at our premises inear Towcester, Northants to identify any refinements needed, to advise on mounting or installing and to help you prepare your accurately dimensioned design. We will provide telephone and email assistance to help you decide on a feasible outline design prior to holding the detailed design review with you in Stony Stratford. •The maximum size of your project should be no more than the area of an A2 sheet of paper - 0.27sq-m. A2 is approx 60x45cm •Your project can consist of more than one panel, provided the total cumulative area is not more than 0.27sq-m •Your project can use the leading or foiling method, provided you already have some experience of your chosen method •The design review is an integral part of the course so please ensure you are able to attend - other meeting times may be possible only in exceptional circumstances •You will be asked to bring 3 copies of your full-sized 1-1 scale design to the course •If you're planning to replace existing glazing with stained glass please discuss with us in advance- there may be specific requirements or regulations to be aware of •If your project will take longer than 2 days there is the option of further days' tuition at a cost to be agreed between us Course structure The course will give you the confidence and skills to tackle substantial future projects. It is designed for those who have already attended a class and are ready to develop their understanding of stained glass design as well as their practical ability. •Before the class - design review at the course venue on at date to suit you prior to the weekend starting •Saturday 9-45am - quick refresher on safety, tools and studio protocol •Saturday 10am to 6pm - working on your project with a break for lunch (45 mins) •Sunday 10am to 6pm - completing your project with a break for lunch (45 mins) and a review of the course towards the end

Sadly not - due to the nature of the materials our classes are for adults only.
With all one-day and longer stained glass classes we include an info pack with details of the tools you've used and suppliers plus reminders of techniques used. This isn't included in half-day classes.
We'll be delighted to help you decided what's needed.
For fusing classes we're happy to advise on tools, materials and kilns on request.
Materials are included in all beginners classes - fusing and stained glass.
Please bring reading glasses if you use them, and sturdy fully enclosed shoes (no sandals).
Aprons, googles and gloves are provided where needed.
Because you will be using lead and solder containing lead on stained glass classes.
Lead is known to pose a higher risk to babies than to adults.
We welcome participating friends or partners.
Sadly there isn't room at most classes for non-participating friends or partners.
Fused glass will need to be collected after firing - we will contact you when ready.
This depends on which class you're planning to book.
For stained glass classes - it will be difficult to complete the class if you have severe arthritis or similar.
For fused glass classes - we suggest you choose a class which doesn't involve glass cutting - feel free to contact us to discuss.
If the class you're planning to book is described as 'for beginners' then yes!
Some of our classes are for improvers - these are described as such in the listing.
We have GF and Vegan biscuits in stock normally.
We will bring in non-dairy milk if advised in advance.
Lunches, where included, are provided by the Bell Cafe nearby which caters for intolerances, vegetarians and vegans.
