Description

POTTERY WHEEL EXPERIENCE MAKING YOUR OWN POT This is a 6 and a half hour introductory class for those who are absolute beginners - you will learn the very basics of throwing on the potter's wheel. Centring your clay, coning the clay, shaping and working with your tools and turning it at the end to perfect the shape. This is a fantastic way to enjoy and learn the age old art of the potter's wheel which, due to the Pottery Throw Down, has become very much on trend. It has to be on everyone's bucket list. After we have dried your pots (normally around 4 to 5 each depending on your speed and what you want to make), you can learn how to turn them or perhaps put a handle on if you have made a mug. You will then paint them on the wheel by wheel spinning or by using many other techniques with our Colour 2 clay colours that go onto unfired clay. Alternatively you can choice for us to dip your pot into any one of 10 lovely stoneware glazes. The classes are kept small so you get lots of help to make lovely pots. We have 5 wheels, so we take 1 to 5 people on a class. Each person has their own dedicated potter's wheel. Please wear appropriate clothing such as jeans, T-shirt and a jumper. Soft flat shoes are best and please tie long hair up. We recommend not wearing a watch or jewellery as they are likely to get dirty. Your pottery will be glazed and fired within 10 days ready to collect.

What's included in the price?

Clay, glaze, all firing, drinks, parking, colours, brushes and tools. Please bring your own lunch.
