"A really enjoyable day and amazing how much progress I made in just one day, having never handled jewellery-making tools before and attempting lots of new techniques - all achieved with Viv's help, useful information and encouragement to try things by myself. I'm delighted with my rings...not perfect but uniquely mine, and all the more precious because of that! Thanks Viv"

Rob Johns reviewed: "2 Crafts in 1 Day!" 1-2-1 woodturning & pottery experience for 1 person

"My wife bought me this as a present and I attended this course yesterday and had to write a review for it straight away. It was amazing, a really relaxing day making things. Half a day of wood turning and half a day of pottery. The wood turning course was informative and really fun, and I ended up with a finished piece by the end of the morning to take home. Pottery is something new to me (I hadn't touched clay since my distant school days) but by the end of the day I had managed to create 3 different pots that were worth keeping all thanks to the great and patient tuition. Looking forward to my next birthday so I can get my wife to buy me another course."

Blended Monkey - pottery - woodturning - green woodworking - pole lathe - throwing responded:

"Hi Rob, Thanks so much for a lovely review; we're so glad you enjoyed your day. You should have the tuition notes link now and Louise is working on getting your pots finished for collection. Any questions or queries, please don't hesitate to get in touch. -- Simon & Louise"

Jane reviewed: Glass Fusing and Slumping for Beginners and Improvers

"After a brief safety talk we were shown 4 different methods of fusing glass followed by time to try out all four under supervision and assistance of our lovely hosts Janice and Jean. This was followed by wonderful homemade soup( choice of 3 ) and muffins out in the summer sunshine. Then the hard work began ,deciding what we wanted to make ,there were plenty of ideas and shapes of glassware to hand and J & J there to advise if we needed help.I managed to make two more things. Such a great day ,can't wait to see my finished items after their double firings .Thanks again Jean & Janice"

JJ Fused Glass responded:

"Hi Jane. Thank you for taking the time to review our fused glass workshop. We’re so glad you enjoyed your experience and the way we teach. We look forward to seeing you again when you collect your work. Best wishes. Janice and Jean. "

Jack Towers reviewed: Kitchen Knife Course

"I bought this course for my dad as a present for his birthday, I've always thought about getting him something like this as he's a really hands on man. The day went amazing. I dropped him off and through good fortune it was just him and Dave in the forge to get to work. My dad couldn't speak anymore highly of Dave, he was attentive, professional and was a gall around great teacher. My dad came out with a big grin on his face and was absolutely chuffed of the knife he'd managed to craft with Dave's excellent guidance"

Hand forged Yorkshire responded:

"Thank you very much indeed for your review Jack, so pleased your dad enjoyed the day. It was great to meet you both and your dad did a top job with his knife."

Amanda key reviewed: Mini Friendly Fox Cub Needle Felting Kit

"the frame is slightly small could do with a little more background material"

Natural Craftings responded:

"Hi Amanda Thank you for your comments I cut the images to size in the Midget series so there wouldn’t be to much bulk for the frame as they are midget size(3inches) In future I will leave more material and suggest the maker cuts it to the size they would like. Happy crafting, SallyAnne"

"I had a wonderfully relaxing and inspiring day with Trisha. She introduced me to the pinch and coil technique and I loved her 'There is no right or wrong' approach ! The time just flew and I came away feeling pampered and nurtured, how could I not after being cooked homemade soup and cookies?! Trisha is clearly a special lady- sharing her knowledge and experience on so many subjects, not just pottery which only added to the day. I am so looking forward seeing the pieces glazed. Jacqueline Baxter reviewed: One day atmospheric landscape oil painting course aboard the narrowboat Peewit with Melanie Max

"A nice day with a professional artist, certainly brought me on in my practice and provoked my thinking on aspects of colour and blending. I would have valued a shorter demo before doing practice , as taking in all aspects of a longer demo, was challenging when it came to putting it in practice."

Melanie Max responded:

"Hi Jacqueline thanks for your feedback. I will consider breaking the demo and steps down into stages."

Evelyn Lee-Barber reviewed: Needle felt landscapes workshop on Orkney, including lunch

"Catherine patiently guided me through each stage. I left with a stunning picture, new techniques and an appetite to keep going. I like that she worked on a version of my picture so you could see her work as well as demonstrate. Catherine is a person you would easily enjoy spending a day with and would make you feel really welcome. I went with a picture in mind having photographed a scene a couple of days before. This is a good idea so you know what you may want to create. However you could simply turn up. Give it a go. I’m hooked!"

Arts a Flutter responded:

"I can honestly say I enjoyed the day just as much as you did. I loved our interesting chat too. Come back when you visit again ."
