For the novice and beginners, the objective is to learn the basics of silversmithing. Making rings is a good place to start.
A simple ring has so much potential, it can become a chain, a bangle or earrings.
You will gain valuable skills and insight into the world of jewellery making, when you discovered what it takes to create the beautiful hand made jewellery you now own, you will be amazed and proud of your achievements.
You will learn how to use tools and torches, work with wire of different types, shape, solder, size and shine your work.
You can return to this class to build confidence or look for Rings and Things Level 2 - not for complete beginners, but perfect for those with some experience.

With a smaller group, I can assure you will work in a safe environment, incorporating measures to reduce any risk of coming into contact with coronavirus along with the usual safety precautions that come with the work.
If you will be redeeming a CraftCourses gift voucher on this course, the voucher code must be provided at the point of booking.
The cost of the workshop includes light refreshments, copper, bronze and silver materials - enough for several items - you can purchase more in class if you only want to work with just silver, for instance.

A brilliant experience making copper and silver rings. Viv explained each stage clearly and coached us through the processes. I came out with some beautiful rings as well as a new found knowledge of the processes involved in metalwork. I really recommend this workshop!
Response from Simply Amazing Jewellery School:Sev it was an absolute pleasure. A lovely group, thank you for this review, it is much appreciated 😍
We were given very good concise instructions for making copper and silver rings, and were able to do each process ourselves with gentle coaching. An experienced and skilled tutor, Vivien made an excellent job of giving us new skills.
Response from Simply Amazing Jewellery School:Thank you Sarah, for this lovely review, the very sweet peas (still blooming!) and for coming to the workshop! Even with all the safety regulations to follow we were still able to enjoy a very creative day - amazing work and beautiful rings - x
Great workshop! We learned a lot and Viv was very patient! Came out with 5 lovely rings that I haven't taken off since.
The only things I might suggest is a proper break for lunch. We were happy we went out for 30 minutes but felt as though we had missed out on some parts as no one else stopped for lunch. One of the other attendees mentioned by the end that she was very hungry and needed some proper food.
I also think that a slightly smaller class size would work better as it was quite difficult for Viv to get around everybody, and of course, some people needed more attention than others.
Overall though, a fun and informative class - Viv explained the science very well! Would definitely attend another one of her classes given the chance. Thanks for everything!
Response from Simply Amazing Jewellery School:Thank you for this lovely and thoughtful review, my system works well most of the time but not all of the time, I am sorry you worried you missed something, I always do a quick head count so I don't have to repeat instructions but like you say, there were lots of things happening - a very creative and diverse group! I was very happy to give you extra help, but the group objective was met - it's when everyone goes solo on their own designs that the fun starts - a great challenge!
I have attended one of Viv's workshops before and went again with another friend who fancied it, because I loved it so much (and I wear the silver rings I made virtually every day!!)
I made 2 rings for my little finger this time and suspect I will wear one or the other every day in future because again I was so delighted!! Viv encourages everyone to be creative and is so incredibly patient and informative. I would certainly recommend it to anyone who has not had a go before.
Response from Simply Amazing Jewellery School:Hi Sue, thank you for this lovely review!
I booked this workshop for me and my friends for my birthday. None of us had made jewellery before. It was so much fun and we all got to be really creative with our time. Viv was wonderful, really helpful and patient during the day and helped all of us make what we wanted. She responded quickly to all of my enquires and gave lots of information before we attended.
We spent the entire time working and forgot about lunch. I enjoyed this workshop and would definitely recommend it.
Response from Simply Amazing Jewellery School:I am so pleased you enjoyed your day - there was some wonderful energy and the creativity was amazing, your Russian Style rings are fabulous! I really enjoyed sharing your birthday thank you - it was an absolute pleasure to work with such lovely people.
I booked this workshop for a friend and I. We had such a great day and learnt so much. Great facilities and excellent teacher. She was very knowledgeable, clear and patient. We hadn't done anything like this before, and now we're hooked. Would highly recommend.
Response from Simply Amazing Jewellery School:That's very kind of you to say so, Natalie - thank you - I am so pleased you both enjoyed the day! I found the group a real pleasure to work with xxx
First time I’ve done a jewellery workshop. Great combination of learning all the important skills but still being able to create our own rings, bringing our own ideas. Great day, would definitely recommend this workshop. I’ll probably do the course again as well!
Response from Simply Amazing Jewellery School:That's wonderful news, thank you Sarah - I am so pleased you enjoyed your workshop, I was amazed by the work the group produced, you were brilliant!
