Helenalilly reviewed: Quilting: Quilt-in-a-Day

"I thoroughly enjoyed making my quilt in a day. We were sent preparatory tasks vital to making the day a success. Follow what it states. I followed examples on an online format and I washed my squares. They shrunk which meant I had to cut extra pieces. The tuition was well delivered by a well experienced and versatile quilter. All the steps were fully explained with examples. A light lunch, tea, coffee and cake at breaks were included. The hall was very spacious and everyone had a table to themselves. Only issue is that there is no parking near the hall. The hall is behind the pub and up a short incline. The parking is in front of the pub. You need to move your sewing machine and equipments up and down a small hill."

Bee-spoke Quilts responded:

"Thank you for your feedback. I’m pleased that you enjoyed your day. Hopefully my new teaching venue will have level parking nearby! "

Peter reviewed: Beginners Woodworking: Make a Bread Board

"Richard runs a very friendly course, we were encouraged to assist each other where needed. The facilities were really good, with a cafe on site for breaks. Those of us with more experience could move at a faster pace or modify the design of the board slightly. I'm very pleased with mine, almost a shame to use it for bread!"

Andrea reviewed: 'Fundamental Art Skills' 10-week live online zoom course for complete beginners with Artist Raya Brown

"I have thoroughly enjoyed Raya’s live / interactive online fundamental art skills course. Being reluctant to attend a face to face course at the time this was perfect for me. I was delighted to discover how effective online teaching can be. Covering both theory and practical application Raya gently supports and inspires you to learn and progress art skills. The online format offers a clear birds eye view of Raya’s demonstration as the group work collectively on the same project. Providing a link for review of each class recording, visual resources and suggestions for homework encourages additional practice or catch up for missed classes. Submitting pictures of completed homework / class work via email allows Raya to offer detailed feedback / advice and the opportunity for the group to view and learn from other peoples progress. With Raya’s skilled guidance I have learnt new skills, developed more confidence and produced pieces of art I am pleased with. Thank you Raya, I am looking forward to attending further online courses."

Magic Wool Art and Craft Studio responded:

"Dear Andrea, Thank you very much for your review. I am so pleased that the online teaching format of my courses suited you, and I managed to help you to develop your art knowledge and skills. The recordings of my classes assisted you to revisit my classes again and recap on some new techniques. I am delighted with the progress that you made at my art course, and I look forward to teaching you again in September. Raya"

Pam reviewed: Glass blowing course - taster

"If you fancy a taster in glass blowing then Steve and Chris are your men. Both are excellent and very patient (they had to be with us) tutors. We had an excellent day and made some let’s say very creative pieces (my vase will never be a vase), we also left with five pieces that we will be proud to put on display. We definitely highly recommend a visit if you want to get creative with some very friendly gentlemen. Take a little bit of cash with you when you visit as we have no doubt you will not be able to resist the urge to buy some of the lovely jewellery they have made and have on display in their workshop. Thanks guys."

Chew Valley HandMade Glass responded:

"Thank you so much for your review Pam, you were both a delight to teach. We are so glad you enjoyed your time with us. Regards Steve and Chris "
