ONLY ONE PLACE LEFT ON 11 JUNE - PLEASE BOOK SOON.
Pen and wash; line and wash; ink and watercolour. Whatever you call it, this is a lovely expressive way of working. It is excellent for quick sketches and more finished paintings. The key thing is to help both ink and watercolour play their part to the full and ensure that 2+2=5.
We will start with exploring the role of line, experimenting with a wide range of pens and ink. Then we will move on to letting the watercolour flow and bring both elements together. Whether you wish to use this technique for portraits, landscapes, urban sketching, animals, still life or flora, you will learn how to capture many different subjects.
Liz's third book - Line and Wash Painting - is published by Crowood Press in January 2022. She will have copies available to purchase.
We will start at 10 and continue until roughly 4.30. No experience is necessary and the day is suitable for both beginners and those wanting to free up their line work or to loosen their watercolours.
The course will be held near Twyford in Berkshire. If you are coming by train, a short taxi ride gets you to the workshop.
Our venue is Micklems Farm in Knowl Hill. During lockdown Micklems refurbished the studio putting in new flooring to facilitate cleaning, new desks to help with social distancing and a camera system to enable demonstrations at a greater distance. Lunch is no longer included to prevent cross contamination. During good weather there is wonderful outside space to be enjoyed. Cleanliness and hand washing is actively encouraged. If you are not feeling well or are self isolating, please do not attend. In turn, the tutor promises not to teach if not well or isolating. If I am unable to teach I will of course refund you in full.
Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 8 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.
All materials and refreshments are provided.
1 day (10:00am to 4:30pm)

I really enjoyed my day. I learnt a lot of new techniques and inspired tondo more pen and wash. I liked trying the different pens and thought the idea of doing small sample drawings was very useful. I will book again
