Sarah reviewed: Sun-printed lampshade making workshops in Devon

"The course was informative but shorter than the time allowed. I think it would be appropriate always to advise people that the course is taking place in a private house and that there are no other participants. The teacher was knowledgeable and I was pleased with the results. I was offered a drink, but other than that it was rather awkward being in a private house with no other participants."

Bridget Arnold responded:

"I did inform Sarah that it was just her attending as that was in answer to her question about the starting time the previous day, so she had the opportunity to say something then. Because it was only her attending she had my undivided attention so all her questions were answered fully and dealt with clearly , but of course it made the workshop shorter just being one person. It was of course in my studio and home space , I think it does say that in the information provided and my partner was here as well for some of the time. I am sorry Sarah felt awkward being on her own. She could always arrange to come with a friend in the future when booking a workshop. I only take small numbers of one or two people as the Lampshade making takes up a lot of room, which it also states in the information. "

Also his wife’s sausage rolls are to die for! I have already recommended this course to a load of friends. "I have attended two workshops at the Artists Studio including wreath making and on each occasion we had a wonderful time. The studio itself is beautifully decorated and the refreshments around the log fire is magical. Due to the small group numbers at the workshop Diane is always available to help and advise. A beautiful environment to create some wonderful crafts. Would highly recommend."

Petra Sharp reviewed: Pottery throwing day course in the South Downs

"We had a wonderful day at Rowena's studio. I booked a one day course for myself and my husband. It was so nice to have such one to one training, as it really gave us the opportunity to get better at our technique. We managed to make quite a few bowls and vases. We can't wait to pick them up once they've been fired and glazed. Would definitely do it again and 100% if you want to have a go at throwing a pot! "

Moya Fitzpatrick reviewed: Dressmaking with Kirstie Combe at The Viking Loom Ltd York

"A really good positive experience. Working alone has its difficulties when worried about the actual pattern, what sort of interfacing is needed, where to alter the darts, will this material suit the pattern, body shape etc. These queries can be answered here as you go along, so you can correct, alter and complete without throwing the garment in the corner! Plus, lets face it, its nice to have confirmation of 'so I was right then?' Wow! I have booked another course. "

The Viking Loom Ltd responded:

"Thanks so much for yor review Moya. it is so helpful to us. really look forward to seeing you 30th jan . best regards romy"

Definitely keep an eye on further opportunities with Andy as and when I can fit them in. Thank you Andy for a great day. Highly recommend you."

I would not hesitate to recommend these guys, and I am looking forward to the next course I can do with them."
