All of my customers are VIPs! but with this 1-2-1 training day you will also get your own set of tools to take home - a Prandi carving axe, a Mora 106 or 120 carving knife, a Mora 164 spoon knife with leather sheath, an axe stone and leather strop to keep your tools sharp.
You will be taught professional carving techniques to produce clean and efficient cuts and to avoid injuries. We will also do regular stretching as this will help you to look after your body. You should leave with the knowledge and confidence to carve safely at home.
You will have access to a range of tools to try out but primarily use the Mora wood carving knives (106/120/164s) and be shown traditional designs for optimising strength and utility. You will make a spoon from local and sustainable fresh cut green wood - starting with a log and leaving with a spoon. This course is run from close to central Edinburgh and is accessible by public transport.
Depending on the weather it may be inside or outdoors in the wildlife garden. Courses can be arranged to suit your availability! Please get in touch for a PDF with more information or to discuss your requirements.
