These classes are offered by arrangement and will need a parent or guardian also present for the session. This is useful so that children can be supervised to carve safely at home afterwards.
The focus of these classes is on good technique to make use of the bigger muscles in the body (as we do with adult classes). Carving can be hard work and tiring for younger children so these classes are generally a short hour and a half to avoid getting too tired and having accidents.
In a short session it may be possible to make something like a butter knife, or some wooden flowers. Safe techniques for using spoon carving knives can also be shown, but carving a spoon will often take much longer than 1.5 hours.
Cancellation and a full refund can be obtained up to 2 weeks before the course starts. Start dates may be amended on request.
